Cut the folded paper to make the bottom of the bag. Do not cut more than 2cm to 5cm. You need a large sheet of paper.

Method 2 of 2: Wrap books

   Fold the paper up to cover the bottom of the book. Fold a line along the bottom of the book. You can use double-sided tape to keep the fold in place, if you want. This will help keep the paperboard secure.

   Place the book above the lower fold so that the edges are equal. Then fold the paper in the upper part of the book. Again, feel free to use the glue to hold the fold in place. Then, take the book out of the paperboard.
   • Measure the folds just created. The pleats must be at least 4cm high.

   Fold the created fold into the paper. At this point, you should have a sheet of paper long enough to wrap the book from front to back.
   • Try not to create a new fold above the fold already in the paper. This will make the cover easier to tear.

   Place the book in the center of the paper. Fold the wrap over the front cover of the book from left to right, and adjust the book's position until the edges are even.

   Fold any excess paper into the front cover of the book. Create a crease. Then, insert the front cover of the book into the slot produced by the folded paper with the top and bottom of the paperboard. Hold the paper cover against the book until it touches the fold.

   Fold any excess paper into the back cover of the book. Create a crease. Then, insert the back cover of the book into the groove created by the folded paper with the top and bottom of the paperboard. Hold the paper against the book until it touches the fold.

   Stop when the book is properly wrapped. If the paperboard is not wrapped tightly or the folds at the top and bottom are not straight, you can use a few small pieces of tape to keep the inner folds in place.
   • However, do not stick the paperboard on the cover of the book; the paperboard moves when you open the book, and this can damage the cover.

   Decorate the cover of the book, if desired. Remove the book and add stickers, drawings, or other designs to the paperboard. You can add title tags, or use eye-catching typography to write titles. Alternatively, designs can be made on loose paper and glued to book covers with glue or double-sided tape. When finished, wrap the paperboard into the book. advertisement

Advice

• To make the paperboard more durable, you'll remove the book and unfold the folds to return the paper to its original state. Cut a piece of adhesive cellophane so that it covers the entire outer surface of the paper. Peel off the paper under the cellophane and carefully stick it to the paperboard, smoothing the cellophane straight while pasting it so it doesn't bulge. Next is folding the paperboard and wrapping it in the book.
• If the stores don't offer paper bags for shopping, you can buy a brown roll of paper that will be used for wrapping the packages and used as paper covers. Cut a piece of paper long enough to cover the front cover, back cover, and spine, with excess paper on each side measuring at least 7.5cm.
• If you have a color printer and scanner, you can make photocopies of the front cover, back cover, and spine of the book and stick it on the paperboard.
