Whether you want to keep your Sims young and healthy forever or have a particular life path in mind for them that pauses the aging process when it suits you, there is an opportunity to give your Sims eternal youth. This wikiHow teaches you how to prevent your Sims from aging.

To step

Method 1 of 3: The Sims 4

  1. Open your game options. You do this by first clicking on the white ... in the top right corner and then clicking "game options".
  2. Go to the "Play Experience" tab.
  3. Look for the drop-down box "automatic aging (controlled sims)". After this, you have two options regarding the aging of your Sims:
    • Click No to turn off aging for all Sims you can control. So also the Sims from the household you are currently playing with.
    • Click Only Active Household to turn off aging for all Sims you can control except the Sims from the household you are currently playing with.
  4. Uncheck the "Automatic aging (uncontrolled sims)" checkbox to prevent Sims you do not control from aging. If you don't want other Sims in your town to age, uncheck this box.
  5. click on Apply changes to save the new settings. Once your changes are saved, your Sims will not age a day.

Method 2 of 3: The Sims 3

  1. Open a saved file or start a new family. You can only adjust the aging settings while in a Sims world. If not, the option will be grayed out.
  2. Open the options menu. To do this, first click on the blue ... in the lower left corner of the screen and then on Options.
  3. Go to game options. This is the tab with gears and a diamond.
  4. Uncheck "enable aging". This check mark can be found on the left side of the menu.
  5. Click the check mark at the bottom of the game options screen. This will save your changes and your Sims will not age.

Method 3 of 3: The Sims 2

  1. Pressure Ctrl+⇧ Shift+C. in. This will open a field where you can enter cheat codes.
  2. Type aging off and click ↵ Enter. That's all! Your Sims will not age until you exit the game.
    • When you restart the game, you will have to re-enter the code.
    • To turn the aging process back on, use aging on as a cheat code.

Tips

  • In The Sims 3, Sims who are away from home (traveling or studying at university) will not age until they return home.
  • By default, in The Sims 2, young adult Sims do not age while they are in college. Once they graduate and leave college, they will change from a young adult Sim to an adult Sim.
  • Certain alternate forms of life, such as zombies and vampires, do not age in The Sims 2. This does not apply to PlantSims. (Starting in The Sims 3, these shapes are getting older again, but they also live a lot longer than regular Sims.)
  • If you want to disable the aging process in The Sims 2 without entering the cheat code every time, you can modify the "userstartup.cheat" file by adding aging off.
  • In The Sims 1, Sims do not age by default.

Warnings

  • You cannot use this to make your Sims younger. You have other methods for this.
