This wikiHow teaches you how to let people follow your public Facebook posts without adding them as a friend.

Method 1 of 3: Using an Android

1. Open Facebook on your Android. This is the blue icon with a white "f" usually in the app drawer.
2. Tap on ≡. This is in the top right corner of Facebook.
3. Scroll down and tap Account Settings. This is almost at the bottom of the menu.
4. Tap on Public posts. You may have to scroll down a bit to find it.
5. Tap on Public under "Who Can Follow Me". Now anyone on Facebook can follow your public posts without you having to add them as a friend.
   • If you want followers to be able to comment on your posts, also tap Public under "Responses to Public Posts".
   • To allow your followers to comment on other details of your profile, including profile photos, cover photos and bio updates, scroll down and tap Public under "Public Profile Information".

Method 2 of 3: Using an iPhone or iPad

1. Open Facebook on your iPhone or iPad. This is the blue icon with a white "f" usually on the home screen.
2. Tap on ≡. This is on the bottom right of the screen.
3. Scroll down and tap Settings. This is at the bottom of the menu.
4. Tap on Account Settings.
5. Tap on Public posts.
6. Tap on Friends under "Who can follow me?Now anyone on Facebook can follow your public posts without having to add them as a friend.
   • If you want followers to be able to comment on your posts, also tap Public under "Responses to Public Posts".
   • To allow your followers to comment on other sections of your profile, including profile photos, cover photos and bio updates, scroll down and tap Public under "Public Profile Information".

Method 3 of 3: Using a computer

1. Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. If you are not already signed in to your account, enter your login details in the empty fields in the top right corner of the screen and click login.
2. Click the down arrow. It's in the blue bar at the top of Facebook, to the left of the question mark icon. A menu will expand.
3. click on Settings. It's at the bottom of the menu.
4. click on Public posts. This is in the left column.
5. Select who can follow you. You will see a button in the "Who Can Follow Me" section of the right panel. This is set to Friends by default. Click the button and select Public so that everyone on Facebook can follow your public posts.
   • If you want followers to be able to comment on your posts, select Also Public under "Responses to Public Posts".
   • To allow your followers to comment on other details of your profile, including profile photos, cover photos, and bio updates, scroll down and select Public from the "Public Profile Information" menu.
