Sometimes you don't need all the pages you find in that bulky report, or it's so big it won't even fit on a USB. Maybe there are only a few pages that are of interest to you. The best thing to do is simply save it in a new file so you can trade in that huge PDF for a slightly slimmer version.

To step

Method 1 of 6: Acrobat Professional on PC or Mac

  1. Start Adobe Acrobat Professional. Open the document you want to extract pages from.
  2. Open the Google Chrome browser.
  3. Press Ctrl-O to open the popup window to find the file you want to extract the pages from.
  4. Start Preview. Open the document you want to select pages from and then click the Thumbnail button at the top of the screen. The thumbnail slide will slide out and the pages of the document will be displayed.
  5. Go to smallpdf.com with your browser.
  6. Open the Cutepdf website. Select Cutepdf Writer. This will take you to the download page. Cutepdf Writer is a free program.
  7. Download PDFsam from the PDFsam website. Go to the official website and download the correct PDFsam version for your system.
  8. Click on Run. A friendly thingsound indicates that your new PDF is ready.

Tips

  • When security is set to Page extraction not allowed, the above method will not work. Then it is better to print to PDF.

Warnings

  • Acrobat application (Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro) do not have the option to print to PDF. Acrobat Pro only supports extraction and Acrobat Reader does not support extraction nor printing.
