Toadette is one of the hidden racers in Mario Kart Wii. She is a lightweight racer, which makes her very manoeuvrable. In order to unlock her, you will need to have unlocked all tracks. Once you have completed a Time Trial for each track, Toadette will be released. Note: It was once possible to unlock Toadette by winning 1000 Nintendo WFC matches, but this is no longer possible as Nintendo WFC has ended as of May 2014.

To step

1. Unlock every course. To get Toadette you will have to complete a Time trial for each course. Before you can do that, you will have to unlock all available Cups by completing Grand Prix events. If you have a hard time winning the various Grand Prix's, check out the following guide for tips on how to become a better racer.
   • Get third or better in the Mushroom and Flower Cups to unlock the Star Cup.
   • Get third or better in the Shell and Banana Cups to unlock the Leaf Cup.
   • Get third or better in the Star Cup to unlock the Special Cup.
   • Get third or better in the Leaf Cup to unlock the Lightning Cup.
2. Select "Time Trials" from the "Single Player" menu. Since Nintendo WFC has ended, it is only possible to unlock Toadette by completing a Time Trial on all 32 tracks.
3. Choose a character and vehicle. You can choose any combination of character and vehicle you want to complete the Time Trials.
4. Select the first circuit of the first Cup and then select "Solo Time Trials". You don't have to set record time or perform well; all you have to do is complete the Time Trial and set a time.
5. Finish each course methodically. Make sure you have completed all Time Trials for each of the four circuits in the Cup before continuing. This will avoid having to stop by every track to find out which one you missed.
   • Remember, you don't have to improve any of the times. Just try to make it to the finish line so that a time is recorded.
6. Check that a time has been recorded for each circuit. When you hold the cursor over a particular track, you will see a time in the bottom right corner. If it doesn't say "-: -: -", you have completed the Time Trial for that track.
7. Close the game completely and return to the Wii Home screen. You will not be notified that you have unlocked Toadette until you restart the game.
8. Start Mario Kart Wii and choose your License. Once you have selected the License, you will be notified that you can choose Toadette for all competitions.
   • Make sure you choose the same License with which you drove the Time Trials.
   • A character can only be chosen for the License with which you have unlocked it.
