All lockets are a bit different from each other, although locket images are quite basic if you know the sizing. Try to measure to the millimeter. After you have the dimensions, resize the image to the correct ratio. You can print from your own printer, order online or visit a store in person. One of these options makes it easy to print the perfect photo to wear around your neck.

Part 1 of 3: Measure your medallion

1. If possible, measure the size of the image space of your locket. Your locket should have a frame around the area intended for the image. You want to find out the dimensions of the image space. If possible, measure this to the millimeter with your ruler.
   • Use a ruler or tape measure to measure the size of your locket.
   • Once you have taken the measurements, you will have a reference point that you can use when resizing the image.
2. Estimate the size of your image space, in case it is difficult to measure. If you can't measure the image space of your medallion, you can estimate it. A general estimate is about 1mm smaller than the size of your locket.
   • It's better to estimate the size too large than too small, because you can always crop the edges of your image later.
3. Measure the diameter instead of the width if your locket is round. Round lockets can be more difficult to measure because they don't have straight edges. Measure horizontally across the circle to measure the diameter. You can use this size as your approximate width. You can estimate the height based on the top and bottom of the circle shape.
   • It's okay if your measurements are not exact. Get as close to a whole number as possible, and estimate a higher than a lower number. That way you can crop the image if needed.

Part 2 of 3: Resize your photo

1. Upload your image to a website, computer program or smartphone app. You can choose free photo editing websites such as resizemypicture.com or Web Resizer. There are also many photo editing apps you can download from the app store. Or try computer programs such as Paint, Microsoft Office or Photoshop. Select the image you want to use for your locket.
   • Some image editing apps are Photo Editor, Photo Resizer and Image Size.
   • Some websites like Locketstudio.com do all the work to resize the image for you. Upload your image, select the size and shape of your locket and download the image.
2. Adjust the size of the image with the image settings. You can adjust the size by height and width, scale percentage or pixels. If you can resize your image with different heights and widths, enter the approximate size of your locket. Your image will be converted to the format you entered.
   • If you need to shrink the image by percentage, start by calculating the percentage you need to shrink the image size, based on the current image size. If this calculation is confusing, you can continue to try entering different sizes.
   • If you resize your image pixel by pixel, you must first determine the number of pixels of your image before resizing. When you are in your image settings, select the "Pixels" option and resize your image based on pixel measurement.
3. Save a copy of your custom locket photo for printing. After you have put your photo in the desired format, save the image so that you can print it. Save it as an image file, such as a JPEG.

Part 3 of 3: Print your medallion-sized image

1. Use your pigment printer to print your locket photo from home. After resizing your image, select "Print" and print your image in color or black and white. Print on matte or glossy paper.
   • This is a useful way to print as you can print multiple drafts to test your image size.
2. Print your photo in a custom size with websites such as Pixum and Snapfish. After you've perfectly tailored your photo, you can upload it online, place an order and have your photos delivered to your door.
3. Visit shops such as Hema, Kruidvat or a copy shop. You can save your image to a USB stick or a CD and take it with you to the store. Some stores offer the option to place your order online and pick up the images in person, so double check their website if this is convenient for you.
