Coloring hair with chalk is a simple and temporary coloring method for your hair. The latest craze is dyeing the ends of your hair with chalk. Not everyone wants to dye their hair permanently and that makes chalk an excellent alternative. Chalk won't damage your hair, comes off easily the next time you wash your hair, and makes your hair look fabulous.

Method 1 of 2: How to get chalk painted highlights

1. Collect the colors you want to use in your hair. People with lighter hair usually have good results with all colors of crayon, people with darker hair may need to use lighter colors (such as neon colors) so that you can really see the crayon colors.

     • Sidewalk chalk, this is often too dusty
     • Oil-based chalk, which can stain your clothes.

3. Get a small bowl with lukewarm water and a clean paintbrush. You don't need a lot of water. The more water you use, the less bright the chalk color will eventually become in your hair.

Wet a section of hair and rub in a wet piece of chalk - gently for a more transparent color, harder and repeatedly for a darker and more intense color. • You can wrap your hair in a towel when you go to sleep. That way there is less chance that you will get the chalk in your bedding.
• Use soft chalk (no pastels because then you will get oil in your hair) and no sidewalk chalk.
