This article teaches you how to access the hidden service or setup menu of your LG TV.

Method 1 of 2: Open the service menu

1. Make sure you have the original TV remote. While some external or universal remotes also allow you to access your LG TV's service menu, you have the best chance of success with your TV's original remote.
2. Select a TV channel. Use the button INPUT on your remote to select "TV" as the input, then set a TV channel.
   • If you don't do this, you may not be able to access the service menu.
3. Hold both the button MENU on your remote as the button MENU on your TV. You do this at the same time.
   • On select models of the remote or TV, the button is MENU is replaced by SETTINGS or HOME.

4. Release both buttons when the TV asks for a password. When you see the password field appear on your TV, you can release the menu buttons on the remote and the TV.
5. Enter your TV password. Try first 0000.
6. Press ENTER. This button is located in the center of the remote control. This is how you enter the password.

   • It is wise to take a picture of the screen or write down the current settings so that you can reset the settings later if you accidentally change something important.

Method 2 of 2: Open the installation menu

1. Make sure you have the original TV remote. While some external or universal remotes also allow you to access your LG TV's setup menu, you have the best chance of success with your TV's original remote.

3. Hold the button MENU pressed. Do this on your remote. Usually you have to hold the menu button for between 5 and 7 seconds.

4. Release the button when the password menu opens. Release the button quickly, because if you keep it pressed for longer, your TV may open a new menu.
5. Type 1105. This is the code that all LG TVs use for the setup menu.
6. Press ENTER. This button is located in the center of the remote control. This is how you enter the password.

7. View the installation menu. In the installation menu you can find the option to enable USB mode for your TV. You can also find other options here, such as hotel mode, that affect how your TV works.

Tips

• Many LG TVs use different names for the same buttons. The menu button of one TV can be the home or settings button of another TV. The same goes for the remote controls.

Warnings

• Don't change advanced settings if you don't know what they are doing. Adjusting the options in the service or installation menu can cause your LG TV to stop working properly.
