The 'Developer' tab in Microsoft Word allows users to write and run macros, use ActiveX controls and XML commands, create applications in Microsoft Office, etc. By default, the Developer tab is not directly available on the ribbon in Word, but can be added from the Options menu.
To step
Start Microsoft Word on your computer.
Click the "File" tab and select "Options". The Options dialog box opens. 
Click on "Customize Ribbon".
Select "Main Tabs" from the drop-down menu under "Customize Ribbon".
Place a check next to "Developers".
Click on "OK". Click on "OK". The Options dialog box closes and the Developer tab is now available on the ribbon, until you turn off these settings or reinstall a version of Microsoft Office on your computer.
