Sure, you love music, but that doesn't mean you want to spend a fortune on your ever-growing collection. Wouldn't it be great to be able to get some for free every once in a while? Which can! Legally and free, there is all music waiting for you, ready to take with you - you just need to know where to look!

Method 1 of 2: The "Free on iTunes" feature

1. Download the "Single of the Week."Go to the iTunes Store, click" Music "in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Once there, choose" Free on "iTunes from the menu on the right." You will now be taken to a page where you can download the Single of the Week.
   • Another way to get the "Single of the Week" is to choose "Free on iTunes" from the "Quick Links" menu on the right side of the iTunes Store home page.
   • On the "Free on iTunes" page you can also find TV episodes, short films, books and apps that are available for free.
2. Listen to music-focused podcasts. Music podcasts are similar to previously recorded radio shows with songs and commentary. Sometimes you can find a podcast without commentary. Go to the iTunes Store and click on "Podcasts" at the top. Choose "Music" from the menu and you can access all of the free music podcasts that iTunes has to offer.
   • You can also get a free music track through AOLMedia's MP3 of the Day Podcast. This gives you a full, free music track with every episode. Type the name of this podcast into the iTunes search tool in the top right corner of the podcast page.
   • You can sign up for a podcast by clicking "Subscribe" next to the title, and the new episodes will be downloaded automatically. You can also download previous episodes by clicking the "Free" button next to a specific episode on the podcast's homepage.

Method 2 of 2: Other options

1. Download music from other sources for free. iTunes isn't the only way to get free music. There are various sources - also legal - to obtain music.
2. An easy way is through torrents. This allows you to download music from another user of the site.
3. Check out Jamendo. Jamendo is an online music resource where thousands of songs can be found for download, and all are completely legal.
4. Get your music from YouTube. YouTube is a great source of media, and if you are careful and find out if the source is legal, a lot is possible.

Tips

• If you want more than a single song per week, scroll down the iTunes Store and look for Discovery Download.
• If you use iGoogle, you can use the gadget for free iTunes songs.
• You will likely need a desktop computer to do this - you won't be able to take advantage of these capabilities with the mobile version of iTunes.
