This wikiHow shows you how to fix common errors in Google Chrome for your desktop, as well as how to uninstall and reinstall Chrome on both your desktop and iPhone. Most common errors in Google Chrome are caused by using an unsupported version of Chrome or having too many programs and data in Chrome.

To step

Part 1 of 9: Using simple solutions

  1. Restart your computer. Restarting your computer will make Chrome faster and less likely to crash, especially if you haven't turned off your computer for several days.
  2. Check your internet connection. If your router is not working properly or your computer is not properly connected to the network, you will notice that pages load slowly and you will often see pages with errors. In general, problems with your Wi-Fi can be solved by sitting closer to the router and closing apps that are running in the background and that use a lot of bandwidth (such as Netflix).
  3. Make sure your computer supports Google Chrome. To use Google Chrome, your computer must have the following specifications:
    • Windows - Windows 7 or higher.
    • Mac - Mac OS X 10.9 or higher.
  4. Check your computer for malware. If you see strange pages with Chrome or your homepage has recently changed without doing anything yourself, you may have a virus on your computer. You should be able to remove the virus by running a virus check.
