  3. Open the mod installer if you haven't already.
    • Make sure GTA 4 is not running. If GTA 4 is running, installing the mod will probably not work properly.
  4. Select the option "Vehicle install from archive". This allows you to install the car mod directly from the downloaded archive file.
  5. Select the file of the new vehicle. Click the Browse button somewhere at the bottom of the screen, and go to the archive you just downloaded.
  6. Start installing the mod. Click Next after selecting the vehicle file.
  7. Watch the changes. The installation file will show the changes made to the GTA 4 files. As long as there are green check marks behind each listing, the new mod will work fine. Click Next to continue.
  8. Select the file you want to replace. GTA 4 only supports a select group of vehicles. Select the vehicle in the game that you want to replace.
    • Make sure you don't select a boat to replace or your car will end up in the water.
  9. Search for the new vehicle. Your newly installed car will appear where the old vehicle was. This means that you usually just have to wait until you see one in a parking lot or in traffic. You can always use cheats to make a new vehicle appear, using the name of the old vehicle.

Part 3 of 3: Restoring the original cars

  1. Open the car mod installer. The GTA IV Vehicle Mod Installer offers the possibility to restore the original cars.
