This wikiHow shows you how to create your own subreddit on Reddit.com. A subreddit is an online forum dedicated to a specific topic.

To step

1. Open https://www.reddit.com in a web browser. If you're not already signed into your Reddit account, click LOGIN near the top center of the page to do this.
   • If you are not yet a member of the Reddit community, click SIGN UP in the top right corner to create an account.
   • To create a subreddit, you must meet certain requirements: your account must be at least 30 days old, and you must have a certain amount of positive karma. The positive karma requirements are kept private to avoid spam on the site.
2. click on Create community. You'll find this at the top of the right-most column of your Reddit homepage.
   • If you've reverted your version of Reddit to the older version, click Create your own subreddit.
3. Enter the details of your subreddit. On this page you can change your subreddit name, theme color and description, among other things. This is yours, so adjust it to your liking.
   • Name: the name is part of your subreddit website address. For example, if you name your subreddit "wikihow", the address of your subreddit will be https://reddit.com/r/wikihow. Names are permanent and cannot contain spaces and registered trademarks.
   • Title: this will appear at the top of the subreddit.
   • Description: this is where you explain the purpose of your subreddit.
   • Sidebar: text and links that you want to appear in the right sidebar of your subreddit should be entered here.
   • Submission text: enter the text you want redditors to see when they create a new post on your subreddit.
   • Other preferences: view each of the remaining options including colors, viewing requirements, types of messages you want to allow and language. Choose the options that best suit your needs.
4. Click on Create. This is stated at the bottom of the form. Your subreddit is now created and ready to use.

Tips

• Try to make your subreddit original and interesting. Look for similar subreddits before creating your own.
• If you decide you don't want your subreddit anymore, you can post it on r / adoptareddit.
