Making a bow and arrow in Minecraft allows you to fight with a ranged weapon. Arches are an efficient and safe way to attack your enemies and relatively easy to craft. Arches can also be enchanted at a later stage. Read on to learn exactly how to make a bow and arrow from raw materials.

Method 1 of 2: Making a bow

1. Make sure you've built a workbench. You can make this by placing a block of wood in the 2x2 work area, after which you will get 4 wooden planks. You place these planks back in the work area, after which you have made a workbench.
   • You can place workbenches on the floor. This will display a 3x3 grid in which you can create the most items in the game.
   • You can also find workbenches in villages.
2. Gather all your materials. You need the following for a bow:
   • 3 sticks
     • To make the sticks you need two wooden planks.
     • You need wood to make the wooden planks.
   • 3 wires
     • You can get threads by killing spiders. It's just that spiders drop 0 to 2 threads at the same time, so you may have to kill more than one spider to get enough threads.
     • You can also find wires by searching a mine for a spider web and making this piece.
3. Line up your sticks in the workbench grid. Place them in the following triangular pattern to start making an arch:
   • Place a stick in the center box of the top row of the grid.
   • Place another stick in the right box of the middle row.
   • Place the last stick in the center box of the bottom row.
4. Arrange your wires in the workbench grid. Arrange them in the following pattern:
   • Make a straight line with the three wires on the left side of the grid.
5. Make your bow. Click the craft button to turn the raw materials into a bow.

Method 2 of 2: Making arrows

1. Gather all your materials. You need the following for an arrow:
   • 1 stick
     • Sticks are obtained by making planks from wooden blocks.
   • 1 flint
     • You can find flint by digging for gravel. When extracting gravel, there is a 10% chance that a piece of flint will emerge, instead of a block of gravel.
   • 1 spring
     • You can find feathers by killing chickens.
2. Arrange all your items in a straight line down your workbench. Place them as follows:
   • In the top row you place a piece of flint in the middle.
   • Place another stick in the center box of the middle row.
   • Place a spring in the center of the bottom row.
3. Make your arrow. Click on the craft button to convert the raw materials to 4 arrows.

Tips

• You can also get an arc from an enemy mob. Watch for skeletons at night. Kill them and see what they drop. If there is a bow, take it with you. Such an arc is often damaged.
• You can change the settings in "Peaceful" mode to get the items right away.

Warnings

• Be careful with spiders. You've been there in no time.
• Attack spiders as soon as they jump, it is most effective.
