A mouse pad is an excellent tool for moving your mouse more easily. Some mouse pads even have an extra thick section to support your wrist. A mouse pad can get dirty and must be cleaned. This wikiHow shows you how to do that.

To step

1. See what material your mouse pad is made of. Usually, a mouse pad is made of some type of spongy foam and covered with finely woven fabric or a plastic protective layer.
2. Let the mouse pad dry thoroughly. Let it dry completely through the foam before putting it back on your desk.

Tips

• It's time to buy a new mouse pad if it falls apart or has stubborn stains on it.
• While you let your mouse pad dry, you can also remove the dirt around your mouse ball and from under your mouse pad.

Warnings

• Let the mouse pad dry longer if your desk is made of wood.
• First, wet a small corner of your mouse pad, as your fabric mouse pad may not be colourfast.
• Do not put your mouse on a wet mouse pad. Let the mouse pad dry thoroughly first.
• Use a washcloth, towel, or rag that you don't mind getting wet.
