Sometimes installing games and other software on your computer can be quite tricky. Here are a few ways to do this.

To step

1. Place the disc in your computer's CD / DVD player. The PC will automatically recognize that a disc has been inserted and a window will appear on the screen. This can take a second or 30. You will probably hear the disc spinning and being read by your computer.
2. Search for the program manually. If nothing appears within 30 seconds, open your hard drive icon (top right of screen) and find the file with the name of your game.
3. If there is a document entitled Readme, read it first. It may contain valuable information about the installation and operation of the program.
4. Install the software. There may be an installer. If so, double click on it and follow the prompts. The DVD may show the game folder with an arrow pointing to your Applications folder. If so, drag the game file onto the icon or designated Applications folder. The software is then copied to that folder.
5. Read the fine print. If the game uses an installer, and you enjoy reading things about copyright, fair use, and how they promise never to sell your name to anyone, or if you think it's important to know what rights the creator of the game, read the EULA, or legal documents that have been given or displayed. In all other cases, just follow the directions and agree to everything. When the game is installed by dragging to the Programs folder, chances are you will see an EULA when you first run the application

   • If you don't see it, look for an icon with the inscription removable, or local station, and click to open the directory.
3. Is there a document with the title Readmeread this first. It may contain valuable information about the installation and operation of the program.
4. Press install. Once you have located the software and read any readme files, double-click the game or installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the game.
5. Read the fine print. If the game uses an installer, and you enjoy reading things about copyright, fairness and how they promise you never to sell your name to anyone, or if you think it's important to know what rights the creator has of the game, read the accompanying legal documents. In the other cases, just follow the directions and agree to everything.
6. Wait while the computer installs the program. This can be done in no time or take a long time, depending on the size of the game and the speed and performance of your PC.
7. Start the application. Play the game and have fun!

Method 2 of 2: Macintosh

1. Place the disc in your Mac's CD / DVD player. The PC will automatically recognize that a disc has been inserted and a window will appear on the screen. This can take a second or 30. You will probably hear the disc spinning and being read by your computer.
2. Search for the program manually. If nothing appears within 30 seconds, open your hard drive icon (top right of screen) and find the file with the name of your game.
3. Is there a document with the title Readmeread this first. It may contain valuable information about the installation and operation of the program.
4. Press install. There may be an installation file. Double click on it and follow the prompts.

   • If the game is installed by going to the Programs folder, chances are you will see an EULA when you first run the application.
6. Start your game. Make sure you can sit ergonomically, in case you want to play for extended periods of time.
