This wikiHow teaches you how to view the contents of a .db or .sql (database) file using a DB Browser for Windows or macOS.

Go to http://sqlitebrowser.org in a web browser. DB Browser is a free tool that opens a database file on your PC or Mac.
Download the version for your operating system. There are several blue download buttons on the right side of the screen. Click the button that displays your operating system and follow the on-screen instructions to download the file to your computer.
Install the application. Double-click the file you just downloaded and follow the onscreen instructions in the wizard to install the app.
- If you're using a Mac, drag the icon DB Browser to the folder Applications to begin the installation.
Open DB Browser. If you're on Windows, this app is in the section All apps from the Start menu. If you have a Mac, you can find it in the folder Applications.
click on Open Database. This is at the top of the app. This will open your computer's file browser.
Navigate to the database file you want to open. This usually ends with .db or .sql.
Select the file and click Open. This opens the database in DB Browser.
