This article will teach you how to cancel a recurring payment or subscription fee and how to cancel a pending payment or an unclaimed payment on PayPal.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Cancel recurring payments and subscription fees

1. Go to https://www.paypal.com in a browser. If you are not automatically logged in, click "Login" in the top right corner of the window and enter your access information.
2. Click on Settings. This is the settings icon in the top right corner of the screen.
3. Click on the Payments tab. This is located at the top center of the window.
4. Click Manage Pre-Approved Payments. This is located in the center of the window.
5. Click on the payment you want to cancel.
   • You may need to click "Next Page" in the lower right corner of the window to find the payment you are looking for if you have multiple recurring payments.
6. Click on Cancel. This is listed next to "Status" under "Billing Information".
7. Click Yes to confirm. This confirms the cancellation of the recurring payment.

Method 2 of 2: Cancel any ongoing or unclaimed payments

1. Go to https://www.paypal.com in a browser. If you are not automatically logged in, click "Login" in the top right corner of the window and enter your access information.
2. Click Activity at the top of the window.
3. Click on the payment you want to cancel. It should be under the "Running" section in the Activity tab.
   • If the payment you want to cancel is in the "Completed" section of the Activity tab, the payee has already received the payment and cannot be canceled or refunded. To get your money back, you will need to request a refund or contact the Resolution Center.
4. Confirm that the payment is unclaimed. At the bottom of the transaction dialog, you will see a message with "[Username] has not yet accepted" next to a link to "Cancel".
5. Click on Cancel.
6. Click Cancel Payment.
7. Click Yes to confirm. Your payment has now been canceled.

Warnings

• For PayPal payments with a credit card, it can take up to 30 days for the amount to be refunded to your credit card account. Keep this in mind when canceling credit card payments and know that the refund may not be immediate.
