Resetting your Samsung Galaxy S3 can be useful if you are having problems with your device or if you want to restore the device to factory settings. You erase all personal data and settings when you perform a reset. Follow one of the three methods below to reset your Samsung Galaxy S3.
To step
Method 1 of 3: Reset from the Settings menu
Tap "Menu" on the home screen.
Tap on "Settings".
Select "Backup and Restore".
- By default, all your data is backed up for later recovery. If you don't want that, you can click the checkboxes next to the corresponding options to tick them off.
Tap "Restore Default Data".
Tap "Reset device".
- If the screen lock is activated on your device, you will now need to enter your password or PIN.
Select "Delete all". Your phone will now perform a reset that will erase all data, then the device will reboot.
Method 2 of 3: Reset with physical buttons
Turn off your Samsung Galaxy S3.
Simultaneously press the power button, home button and volume up button.
Wait for the phone to vibrate then release the power button.
Wait for the "Android System Recovery" screen to appear, then release the home button and the "volume up" button as well.
Press the "volume down" button until "Wipe data / factory reset" is selected.
Press the power button to select the option.
Press "Volume Down" until "Delete all user data" is selected.
Press the power button again to select the option. Your phone will now perform a reset, you will see "Reboot system now" when the process is completed.
Press the Power button to select this option and complete the process.
Method 3 of 3: Keyboard
Open the keyboard on your Samsung Galaxy S3, usually this option is represented by a green telephone receiver icon.
Type * 2767 * 3855 #. Now your device will reset and erase all personal data and settings.
Tips
- Make sure you have properly backed up all your data and documents before starting the reset.
