This wikiHow shows you how to create a brand new Gmail account on a computer, phone, or tablet.

Method 1 of 3: Sign in on an iPhone or iPad

1. Open the settings of your iPhone or iPad Scroll down and tap Passwords and accounts. This is in the middle of the menu.
2. Tap on Add Account. This is at the bottom of the "ACCOUNTS" section.
3. Tap on Google. This is in the middle of the menu.
4. Tap on create Account. This is located at the bottom of the page.
   • If you already have a Gmail account and want to connect it to your iPhone, enter your username, then tap Next one and follow the onscreen instructions to log in.
5. Enter your name and tap Next one. Enter your first name in the first empty box and your last name in the second.
6. Enter your birthday and gender and tap Next one. Use the drop-down menus to select your birthday, month and year. Then tap the drop-down list Sex to choose what applies.
7. Enter your desired username and tap Next one. This is the name that comes before the "@ gmail.com" portion of your email address.
   • If the username you want is already taken, try other options until you find one that works.
8. Create a password and tap Next one. Your password must be at least 8 characters and contain letters, numbers and symbols. Type the same in both boxes to confirm.
9. Enter your phone number and tap Next one. Google needs your phone number to be able to send you a verification code that you enter in the next screen.
10. Enter the verification code and tap Next. If your phone number is already connected to another Google account, tap Get on when asked for.
11. Review the terms of service and tap I agree. By on I agree tapping, you confirm that you agree to all of the terms listed. Your new Google account has now been created.
12. Tap on Next one to log in. You have now added your new Gmail account to your iPhone or iPad.
    • If you want to receive your Gmail messages in the Mail app, slide the "Mail" switch to the on position Download the Gmail app (optional). If you want to use Gmail's official app to send and receive messages, download it from the App Store. Once the app has downloaded, open it and follow the onscreen instructions to log in.

Method 2 of 3: Sign in on an Android

1. Open the settings of your Android Tap on Accounts or on Accounts and sync. The name of this option depends on your Android. A list of accounts will appear.
2. Tap on + Add account. This is at the bottom of the list.
3. Tap on Google. This will open the Google login screen.
4. Tap on create Account. This is located at the bottom of the form.
   • If you already have a Gmail account and want to connect it to your Android, enter your username, then tap Next one and follow the onscreen instructions to log in.
5. Enter your name and tap Next one. Enter your first name in the first empty box and your last name in the second.
6. Enter your birthday and gender and tap Next one . Use the drop-down menus to select your birthday, month and year. Then select a gender from the drop-down list.
7. Enter your desired username and tap Next one. This is the name that comes before the "@ gmail.com" portion of your email address.
   • If the username you want is already taken, try other options until you find one that works.
8. Create a password and tap Next one. Your password must be at least 8 characters and contain letters, numbers and symbols. Type the same in both boxes to confirm.

10. Enter the verification code and tap Next one. If your phone number is already connected to another Google account, then you should press Get on to create a new account and continue.
11. Review the terms of service and tap I agree. By on I agree tapping, you confirm that you agree to all of the terms listed. Your new Google account has now been created.
12. Tap on Next one to log in. You have now added your new Gmail account to your Android.
13. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the setup. Once you've added the account, add it to the Gmail app. That's how you do that:
    • Open Gmail (it's usually on the home screen and / or in the app drawer).
    • Tap the menu ≡ in the top left corner.
    • Tap your old Gmail account (which you are logged into on your Android).
    • Tap on Manage accounts.
    • Tap your new account. If it is not already displayed, tap Manage accounts and follow the onscreen instructions to sign up now.

Method 3 of 3: Log on to a computer

1. Open a web browser. You can use any browser to create a Gmail account, including Microsoft Edge, Safari, Chrome or Firefox.
2. Go to https://www.gmail.com.
   • If you or someone else is already signed in to a Gmail account in this browser, click the profile picture in the top right corner of the page, click Log out and then on Use a different account in the middle of the page.
3. click on CREATE ACCOUNT. This is located in the top right corner of the page.
   • If someone was already signed in to Gmail, click create Account below the "Sign Up" place in the middle of the page.
4. Fill in the form. On the right side of the web page you will find a few empty text fields. Here is where you will enter your personal information as listed below:
   • Enter your first and last name in the top two empty fields.
   • Enter your desired username here. This is the first part of your Gmail address (the part that comes before "@ gmail.com").
   • Enter a password in the first empty field. Make sure the password is at least 8 characters, with a combination of letters, symbols and numbers. Do not use a password from another site.
   • Retype the password in the empty "Confirm Password" field.
5. click on Next one. This is the blue button below the form. If the username is not already in use, you will be taken to another page to confirm more details.
   • If the username you chose is already in use, you will see a message with the notification below the empty "Username" field. Enter a different username or click on one of the suggestions from Google.
6. Confirm your phone number and click Next one. Google must send you a text message to confirm your new account. This text will contain a code that you must enter in the next screen.
7. Enter the verification code and click Verify. Once the code has been verified, you will be prompted to complete another form.
8. Fill in the form. These are additional details that are required to set up your account:
   • Enter another email address from you in the "Recovery email address" field. This is optional, but it will allow you to recover your Gmail password should you ever lose it.
   • Enter your birthday, month and year.
   • Select your gender from the drop-down menu.
9. click on Next one.
10. Choose whether or not you want to link your phone number to your Google account. To include your phone number in your account information, click Yes, I participate and follow the instructions on the screen. If not, click To skip.
11. Read the terms of service. You cannot create an account without reading these terms and conditions. After reading, scroll to the bottom of the terms and conditions to activate the "I agree" button.
12. click on I agree. This is the blue button at the bottom of the page. Your Gmail account is now active. Once your account has been finalized, you will be redirected to your Gmail inbox.
