Method 1 of 4: Remove double-sided tape from walls and doors

1. Gather your supplies. If you have double-sided tape on your window, you cannot use heat as there is a chance that the window will crack. You can also not use agents that sand too strongly, because then you run the risk of scratching the glass. Instead, you will have to dissolve the tape with the help of oil. Here's a list of what you need:
   • Butter knife (you can also use your fingernail)
   • Glass cleaner
   • Sponge and a scratch-free scourer suitable for glass
   • Edible oil or cleansing oil (mineral oil, etc)
   • Rubbing alcohol
2. Try rubbing the area with your finger or an eraser. You can sometimes just rub off light glue residues. The area in question may look a bit dull, but you can fix that by wiping it clean with a little rubbing alcohol.

Tips

• Instead of using a hair dryer, let the sun heat the surface for about two hours.
