The graphics card drivers are important to all computers as they tell the operating system (Windows 7) how to handle the graphics card. Updating your graphics card drivers is sometimes required when someone wants to run a game that requires a newer driver. It is important to choose the correct drivers for your graphics card, otherwise your computer may crash. By following the following simple instructions, you too can update your graphics card drivers.

To step

1. Press the Start button and go to Control Panel.
   • At the top right of the screen you will see the group "Display with". If not set to large icons, do so now.
2. Click on "Device Manager".
   • In this menu you will see a section called "Display adapters". Click here.
3. Now right click on the displayed graphics card and select "Update drivers".
4. Then select Auto Search.
   • If Windows 7 has found a driver, restart the computer.
5. To update the drivers manually, write down the name of the graphics card as indicated in "Device Manager" under "Display adapters".
6. Go to the manufacturer's website. Some of the manufacturers' websites are listed in the Tips section at the end of this article.
7. Look for a Driver or Download Department.
8. Enter the data of your graphics card.
9. Download the driver to a location that you can easily remember.
10. Run the download from the selected location and follow the on-screen instructions.
11. Restart your computer.
