In this article, you can learn how to report a problem to Instagram. Unfortunately, Instagram no longer has customer service that you can call, and Instagram's email address no longer works. If you want to report something to Instagram, you can use the Help Center website on your computer, or you can use the "Report a problem" option in the mobile app. You just don't always get an answer. For example, if you have forgotten your password, you will have to reset your password yourself.

Method 1 of 4: Send a message from your PC

1. Open the Instagram Help Center. Go to https://help.instagram.com/ in your favorite browser.

   Unfortunately it is not possible to contact Instagram directly. You can't call, text, or email Instagram, and there are no other ways to speak to an Instagram employee or representative. What you can do is it Use the Instagram Help Center to define and report the problem.

   
   
2. click on Privacy and security center. You can find this option on the left side of the page.
3. click on Report something. You can find this option almost at the bottom of the column with options on the left.
4. Choose a category. On the left side of the page, click the most appropriate of the options below:
   • Hacked accounts - Choose this option if you think your account has been hacked.
   • Accounts impersonating someone else - Choose this option if you can demonstrate that the user of another account is pretending to be you.
   • Minor children - Click this option if you think you have found an account belonging to someone under the age of 13.
   • Accounts with hateful content - Click this option to report an account that is spreading hate speech.
   • Publication of private data - Choose this option if you notice someone publishing a user's private information (such as someone's home address).
   • Self-injury - Click this option to report publications in which a user is clearly self-injuring or otherwise causing physical harm.
   • Abuse & Spam - Click this option to report abuse, spam or mistreatment.
   • Human trafficking - Select this option to see how you can report human smuggling.
   • Report other types - If you cannot find the reason why you want to contact Instagram, click this option.
5. Answer any follow-up questions from Instagram. Depending on the problem you choose, you may have to answer certain questions, choose options from drop-down menus, and / or fill in forms. When filling out the forms, keep your descriptions short and clear. Provide as many relevant details as possible. Clearly explain how the reported facts violate Instagram's rules. You can report the following issues:
   • Hacked accounts - Select one of the links under the heading "Hacked accounts" and follow the instructions.
   • Accounts impersonating someone else - Select one of the links under the heading "Accounts impersonating someone else" and follow the instructions.
   • Minor children - Click on the link How do I report ..., click on Fill out this form, enter your account details and click To send.
   • Accounts with hateful content - Click on the link Accounts with hateful content, click on report, fill in the form and click on To send.
   • Publication of private data - Click on the link Report, fill in the form and click on To send.
   • Self-injury - Select one of the links under the heading "Self-Injury", click on the option Report, if there is one, fill out the form and click To send.
   • Abuse & Spam - Select one of the links under the heading "Abuse & Spam", click if possible report, fill in the form that you will see and click on To send.
   • Human trafficking - Select one of the links under the heading "Human smuggling" to see what options you have to report human smuggling or child labor.
   • Report other types - Choose one of the links on the page, click on the link Notify, Contact, To fill in, or Let us know, fill in one of the forms that you will see and click on To send.
6. Wait for the problem to be resolved. The chance that you will receive a response from Instagram is not very high, but they will handle your report. If the issue isn't resolved within a week, you can report it again, or you can go to https://help.instagram.com in your web browser and click the topic on the left that describes the issue you want to report to Instagram best describes. If you need help with your account or app, it's best to use this option.

Method 2 of 4: On your mobile

1. Open Instagram. You can recognize the app by the multi-colored icon in the shape of the lens of a camera. If you are already logged in to Instagram, clicking the icon will take you to the home page.
   • If you are not already logged in automatically, enter the email address and password you use for Instagram.
2. Tap on Tap the gear icon (iPhone) or ⋮ (Android). You will find these icons at the top right of the page. This will take you to the Instagram settings page.
3. Scroll down and tap Report a problem. You can find this option almost at the bottom of the page under "Support".
4. Choose an option. Tap one of the following options:
   • Spam or abuse (iPhone) or Report spam or abuse (Android) - This is how you open the Instagram Help Center.
   • Something is not working or Report a problem - This will open a text field in which you can report a virus.
   • Other messages or Send a message - This will open a field in which you can give feedback.
5. Follow the directions within your chosen option. Depending on the option you have chosen, you may be able to choose from several options:
   • Spam or abuse or Report spam or abuse - Browse the Help Center.
   • Something is not working or Report a problem - Enter your message and click on To send or ✓. In Android you can also click ＋ (the plus sign) to take and upload a screenshot.
   • Other messages or Send a message - Enter your message and tap To send or ✓. In Android you can also click ＋ (the plus sign) to take and upload a screenshot.
6. Wait for the problem to be resolved. You won't get a response, but Instagram will try to fix the problem within a week of getting your message.
   • In the meantime, you can go to https://help.instagram.com in your web browser and click on the topic on the left that best describes the problem you want to report to Instagram. If you need help with your account or the app, it's best to use this option.

Method 3 of 4: Report a post

1. Open Instagram. To do this, tap the multi-colored icon that has the shape of a camera lens. If you are already logged in to Instagram, this will take you to the home page.
   • If you are not automatically logged in, enter your email address and password to access your Instagram account.
2. Look for the post you want to report on. You will see posts in your news feed when you open Instagram. You can also tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen and enter the name of the profile where you viewed the publication you wish to report in the search bar at the top of the screen. Then tap the profile and find the post you want to report on the appropriate page.
3. Tap the button ⋮ above the post. This is the three-dot icon in the top right corner above each post. You will then see a drop-down menu.
4. Tap on Report. This is a drop-down menu that appears when you tap the icon with the three dots.
5. Tap on This is spam or This is inappropriate. If the post in question contains material that is violent, pornographic, or depicts abuse or assault, tap This is inappropriate. If the post in question has been published multiple times, or if someone is trying to sell something with it, tap This is spam. That way you report the publication directly.
   • You cannot report advertisements on Instagram. What you can do, if you think a particular ad should be removed, is to tap the three dots icon above the ad and tap Report ad to tap.

Method 4 of 4: Troubleshooting

1. Block users who are annoying or bothering you. If someone on Instagram is bothering you all the time, the easiest way to prevent that user from continuing to bully you is to block that person.
   • You can also report the person from the Instagram Help Center if he or she is harassing or threatening other users in a way that is illegal.
2. Change your password regularly. To prevent your account from being hacked or exploited, change your password at least every six months.
   • You can also reset an unknown password if necessary.
3. Consider converting your account to a private account. You can also make your Instagram account private, which means that people who aren't following you right now won't be able to see your content until you've accepted their follow request, via the Settings option in the app on your mobile:
   • Open Instagram
   • Tap the profile icon Temporarily put your Instagram account on hold. If you think something strange is going on with your account, or that it is being abused, it is sometimes better to put your Instagram account off for a while. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging in again.

Warnings

• Instagram does not have customer service that you can call. If you see an Instagram or Facebook phone number anywhere, you can assume it's a fake.
