Devices with Android come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing is certain: the manufacturer has pre-loaded all kinds of apps on your phone. You usually can't remove these apps unless you have access to the "root", but luckily you can hide them. If you have a Samsung or HTC device, you can easily hide the apps from the folder with all installed apps. If you have another device, there are some other tricks you can use to make unwanted apps disappear from view.

To step

Method 1 of 2: Samsung devices

  1. Tap the menu button. This button is located in the top right corner of the Apps screen; it looks like three superimposed dots (⋮). If you don't see that, you can tap the menu button in the bottom left corner.
  2. Tap "Hide apps". Now you return to Apps; all apps now have checkboxes in the corners of the icons.
  3. Select any app you want to hide. When you tap an app, a ✓ will appear in the check box.
  4. Tap "Done" when you are done selecting the apps. All selected apps are hidden from now on.
  5. Tap the menu button and select "Show hidden apps" to unhide the apps you've hidden.
