On Samsung Galaxy mobile devices powered by Android, it is possible to immediately download and install apps from the Google Play Store on your device. An alternative is to browse apps on your computer and select the option to send the app to your Samsung Galaxy for installation.

To step

Method 1 of 2: With your device

1. Press the Menu button on the Home screen of your Samsung Galaxy.
2. Go to "Play Store" and press it
   • If this is your first time to access the Play Store on your device, read the Google Play Terms of Use and then press "Accept".
3. Press "Apps".
4. Tap the search icon in the top right corner of your screen.
5. Enter the search terms that best describe the type of app you are looking for. For example, if you want to install a fitness app, type in terms such as "fitness tracker" or "calorie counter".
   • Alternatively, browse apps by pressing "Top Free," "Recommended for You," and "Editor's Choice."
6. Tap the app you want to install on your Samsung Galaxy.
7. Press "Install".
   • If there is a price to be paid for the download, it will be displayed instead of "Installing".
8. Review the list of app permissions, then click "Accept.Some apps will require access to certain functions of your mobile device. For example, weather apps may require access to your physical location via GPS.
   • If you have to pay for the app, you will be asked to select a payment option before proceeding with the installation.
9. Press "Install". The selected application will now be downloaded and installed on your Samsung Galaxy.

Method 2 of 2: With your computer

1. On your computer, visit the official Google Play website at https://play.google.com/store.
2. Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner of the Google Play home page and sign in with the same Google account you signed in with your Samsung Galaxy.
3. Click "Apps" in the top left corner of the Google Play home page.
4. Enter search terms that best describe the type of app you want to install. For example, if you want to install a particular social media app, search for "Facebook", "Twitter" or "Pinterest".
   • An alternative is to search apps by clicking "Categories", "Top Lists" or "New Releases".
5. Click on the app you want to install on your Samsung Galaxy.
6. Click "Install" or "Buy".
7. Check the list of app permissions and click the drop-down menu to choose a device.
   • If you have to pay for the app, you will be asked to select a payment option before proceeding with the installation.

Tips

• If you are dissatisfied with an app you purchased from the Google Play Store, return to the store within two hours of purchase and request a refund. In the Play Store, press "My Apps" and then press "Refund" next to the app you are dissatisfied with to request a refund.
