With the help of invisibility, you can get either natural-looking loose curls or curls that are neater and tighter, depending on how you divide the strands of your hair. By curling your hair with bobby pins, you can get a gorgeous, vintage look that doesn't require hot styling tools. See Step 1 to get started!

Steps

  1. 1 Prepare your hair. It is best to start with hair that is damp but not soaked through. Shampoo and condition your hair as you normally would, then let it dry or pat it lightly with a towel to keep it damp and easy to work with. You can use a little curl maintenance product on your hair if your hair is fine and not prone to curls.
    • If you prefer to start with dry hair, you can spray your hair with water after you have curled it. Depending on the structure of your hair, you may end up with fluffy or glossy curls. Experiment with two methods to find out what's best for your hair and your desired style.
  2. 2 Divide your hair into sections. To be sure that your hair curls evenly, divide it into at least three sections: two on either side and one in the middle, from your forehead to the back of your head. Divide the sections with hair clips.
  3. 3 Part a small section of hair for the first curl. If you want large, flowing curls, separate a larger section of hair. For tighter curls, separate a smaller section. You can make all curls the same size or, for variety's sake, make them different. For starters, usually start with a size of about 2.5 centimeters.
    • Take a comb and comb the strand so that it is straight and flat like a ribbon.
    • If you want all your curls to be exactly the same size, sequentially divide the larger sections into smaller sections and tie them with an elastic band, so that each curl will be the same.
  4. 4 Pinch and curl a section of hair. Take the section of hair you want to curl first and pinch the tip between your index finger and thumb. Holding the tip of your hair firmly, wrap the strand around your index finger a couple of times. Carefully peel the loop of hair off your finger, keeping the tip tucked inside.Gently twist the strand towards the roots until you reach the head.
    • This method is difficult to master and it may take several tries before you can completely curl a section of hair without loosening it. Remember to wrap the tip of the strand inward, otherwise it will stick out at an odd angle when it dries.
    • Do not braid your hair or you will end up with wavy, fluffy hair instead of shiny curls.
    • If that helps, you can pinch the tip of your hair over a small, cylindrical object like a marker cap and start winding a strand around it until you reach your head before removing it.
  5. 5 Fix the curl. Use the two bobby pins to secure the curl in the shape of a cross on your head. This will hold the curl securely in place until it dries.
  6. 6 Do the same with the rest of the strands. Continue to curl the strands of hair in the same way and secure them with two crossed bobbins. Continue until all of your strands are twisted and boarded up.
    • The hair strands on the top of your head should be curled from your face to the back of your head.
    • The direction in which you curl the strands of hair at the sides and back of your head will affect the final look as a result. Experiment with curling your curls in different directions - either up or down to see what you like best.
    • For a cleaner look at the end, curl the strands around your head in rows. You should have 3-4 rows, depending on the size of the curls.
  7. 7 Let your curls dry completely. This probably means that you will have to sleep on them so that they have enough time to dry completely. If you unwind the curls while they are damp, your hair will not be able to hold the curls. Sleep on a silk pillowcase to keep your curls from loosening while you sleep.
  8. 8 Remove invisibility from curls. When the curls are completely dry, then it's time to loosen them. Carefully remove the bobbins from each curl and watch them unwind. At this stage, the curls will be tight and your hair will look much shorter than it actually is.
  9. 9 Comb your curls. If you want to keep your curls as curly as possible, just gently separate them with your fingers and comb them lightly. If you want to curl your hair, use a hairbrush or comb to loosen and fluff your curls.
    • At first, it will be difficult to comb the curls with a comb or comb. Comb gently using your fingers first and then the comb or comb itself.
  10. 10 Add style to your hair. Dab some serum or mousse on your curls to keep them from frizz and finish off your look. Leave your hair loose or pin it back in a '40s style.

Method 1 of 1: Hairspray and bobby pins curls

This is a less suitable way of making more and more, but still suitable for many.

  1. 1 Wash your hair as usual.
  2. 2 Leave them to dry. It will be better if you do not leave them to dry completely; let them be slightly damp, then it will be easier to work with them, and the curls will last longer.
    • You can use a hair dryer if you like, just don't dry them completely.
  3. 3 Divide your hair into two sections on each side.
  4. 4 Twist one piece.
  5. 5 Secure it like a braid. Use at least four bobby pins.
  6. 6 Do the same on the other side.
  7. 7 Spray hairspray. Do not feel sorry for the varnish, as this will help fix the curls.
  8. 8 Leave them overnight. Remove the hairpins the next morning. The curls should be perfect.
  9. 9 Ready!

Tips

  • You can add some more invisibility if your curls aren't holding tight. You mustn't let them get loose!
  • Do all this with damp hair only.
  • If you have thick hair, use more invisibility to prevent the curls from unraveling.
  • If you want really curly curls, then make a small bun from the already curled strand of hair, and if you want looser, bohemian curls, then simply twist them in the shape of the letter "O" and pin them.
  • Use a curler immediately before pinning curls and when your hair is damp. It really helps to shape the curls and hold them for a long time.

Warnings

  • Do not remove invisibility if your hair is still damp.
  • Do not move your head too often, otherwise all invisibles will fall out.
  • Don't use hair colors that will blend in with your hair, especially if there are many layers. If you have black hair, then use silver or some other bright invisibility.
  • Make sure to remove any invisibility before messing up your hair.
  • Try not to sleep on your back so that both your head and hair are in contact with the pillow; this can damage and tear them.
