MPEG (or MPG) is one of the most common digital video formats.MPG files provide good image quality with a relatively high compression ratio (that is, the file size is often small, which is suitable for file exchange). Therefore, many video files stored on your computer may be in MPG format. Burning these files to DVD will allow you to play them on any DVD player, not just your computer. To burn MPG to DVD, you need to download a special program.

Steps

  1. 1 Download and install Nero Vision / Video. This program burns files to DVD and can also convert MPG files to DVD format. Download the program from the Internet and install it by double clicking on the downloaded file and following the prompts on the screen. Then run the program.
  2. 2 Under Create, select DVD-Video and add MPG files to Nero Vision / Video. In the top bar, click "To DVD". Then click "Import" (in the right pane). In the window that opens, find the MPG file (or files) and double click on it to add it to the program. The added MPG files will be displayed in the main Nero window. You can change their order using the arrow buttons.
  3. 3 Set the image quality. Click "More" (bottom) and set the image quality. You will also see the duration of the video in the quality you selected. Note that selecting a very high image quality on disc will not change anything if the image quality of the original video file is poor. Now click "Next" (bottom).
  4. 4 Edit the main menu of the disc you are recording. You can choose a menu from preset 2D / 3D templates. Click Next.
  5. 5 Browse the disc's main menu and click Next. You can click "Back" to go back to the previous steps and make any adjustments (if needed).
  6. 6 Insert a blank DVD into your optical drive and click “Burn” to burn the files to DVD (they will be converted to DVD before burning). This process can take some time and will put a heavy load on the processor (so it is best not to work on your computer while burning a DVD).
  7. 7 Nero will start by converting the files and finish by burning them to a DVD disc.
  8. 8 Check out the DVD. After finishing recording, insert the DVD into your DVD player. The disc should start playing automatically.
