This article will show you how to upload a photo from your computer, smartphone, or tablet to Pinterest.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: On a computer

1. 1 Open the Pinterest site. Go to https://www.pinterest.com/ in your browser. The Pinterest home page will open if you're already signed in.
   • If you haven't logged in yet, enter your username and password or log into Pinterest with Facebook.
2. 2 Click on ＋. This icon, in a white circle, is in the lower-right corner of the screen. A menu will open.
   • If you are asked to install a Pinterest button, click Not Now, and then click ＋ again.
3. 3 Click on Upload pin. It's in the middle of the menu. The "Create Pin" window will open.
4. 4 Click on Drag the image or click the button to upload. It's on the left side of the Create Pin window. An Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac) window opens.
   • If this option is not available, click on "Load Pin" in the lower left corner of the window.
5. 5 Select a photo. To do this, click on the desired photo. You may need to open the photo folder on the left side of the window.
6. 6 Click on Open. It's in the lower-right corner of the window. The photo will be uploaded to Pinterest.
7. 7 Enter a description. If you want to enter a description for the photo, click the Description text box and enter your text.
8. 8 Click on Ready. It's a red button in the lower-right corner of the window.
9. 9 Select a board when prompted. Move your mouse over the board where you want to save the photo, and then click Save to the right of the board name. The uploaded photo will be saved.
   • If you want to add a photo to your own whiteboard, click Create Whiteboard, enter a name for the whiteboard, and click Create.

Method 2 of 2: On a mobile device

1. 1 Launch the Pinterest app. Click on the icon in the form of a stylized white letter "P" on a red background. The Pinterest home page will open if you're already signed in.
   • If you haven't logged in yet, enter your username and password or log into Pinterest with Facebook.
2. 2 Click on the profile icon. It looks like a silhouette and is located in the lower right corner (on iPhone / iPad) or in the upper right corner of the screen (Android).
3. 3 Tap ➕. This icon is in the upper right corner of the screen.
4. 4 Click on Photo. It's near the bottom of the menu.
   • When prompted, share your photos with Pinterest on your device.
5. 5 Select a photo. Click on the photo you want to upload to Pinterest.
6. 6 Enter a description. If desired, enter a description in the text box at the top of the screen.
7. 7 Choose a board. Click on the board you want to add the photo to. This will upload your photo to Pinterest; to find this photo, click on the name of the corresponding board.
   • You can also click Create Whiteboard if you want to create a whiteboard for your photo.

Tips

• If you don't want to upload your photos, you can share someone else's Pin.

Warnings

• If you upload a photo of other people without their knowledge or mention, your account may be blocked.
