This wikiHow article teaches you how to call an Uber taxi for someone who can't make a reservation on their own. Once you enter the person's location, you can provide directions, select a vehicle category (if available in your area), and get a quote to avoid unexpected additional fees.

Steps

1. 1 Open the Uber app. If your account is not automatically displayed, please enter your login information.
2. 2 Find the current location of the person you are calling a taxi for.
3. 3 Type Where To?.
4. 4 Indicate the place of departure. This line is at the top of the screen.
   • Depending on your settings, your current address may appear on the top line instead of “Enter your departure location”.
5. 5 Enter the metaposition of the person you are calling a taxi for. You can write the address or point it with a pin on the map.
6. 6 Type Where To?... This is the second line at the top of the screen.
7. 7 Enter where the person for whom you called the taxi will go.
   • Depending on the region of your residence, if you wish, you can omit entering the direction by typing Skip Destination... However, in this case, you will not be able to get a quote.
8. 8 Select the Uber category. If this feature is available in your area, select one of the Uber categories available to you, which will appear in the circles at the bottom of the screen. The corresponding price will also be indicated for each category.
9. 9 Click Verify Uber. As soon as the driver accepts the request, the car will be directed to the location of the person for whom you called the taxi.
10. 10 Click on the driver's photo. The screen will display the name of the driver, as well as the number and model of the car.
11. 11 Pass the driver information to another passenger. That way he can find the car when it arrives at the specified location.
    • It would also be a good idea to contact the driver and let them know that you have booked the ride for another person. Provide the passenger's name and description so the driver knows who to look for.

Tips and Warnings

• Once the driver confirms your request, take a photo of the screen with the driver information indicated on it so that your passenger knows which car to look for.
• You can only place one order with Uber at a time. Thus, you will not be able to call a taxi for yourself or someone else until the first order is completed.
