Sometimes you have to deal with calls from hidden phone numbers. You have no information about the caller, and the phone screen displays the phrase “phone number is hidden” or “unknown”. This is because the caller has deliberately blocked the ability to identify his number on other phones, preventing possible return calls. However, in the USA it is possible to call back to such a number, and it is quite simple.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Answering a Call

1. 1 Wait for the phone to ring a couple of times. Make sure people don't get the wrong number.
2. 2 Answer the call after a few rings. Make sure you actually answered the call and the connection is established, otherwise you will not be able to call back.
3. 3 Check the information about the incoming call. Make sure the phone number is really "hidden."
4. 4 End the conversation. You can also wait for the caller to hang up.

Part 2 of 2: Calling an unknown number

1. 1 Dial the command * 67 on the phone. Wait for the call to start. In some parts of the United States, you can call a hidden or unknown number by simply dialing * 67.
   • If * 67 doesn't work, try other codes: * 69, * 57, or * 71. Use these codes and see which one will allow you to contact the system.
2. 2 Wait for the call to start. You should be able to get through and talk to the person, of course, if he wants to answer your call.

Tips

• If you do not want to receive calls from unknown hidden numbers, contact your cellular company and ask to block incoming calls from such numbers. Alternatively, you can set your phone to only accept calls from your contacts list.
• You can also enable hiding your number for a certain fee, and your number will be displayed as “hidden” or “unknown” when you call.
