In this article, we will show you how to delete temporary system files in Windows using the Disk Cleanup utility.
Steps
- 1 Click on ⊞ Win+E. The Explorer window will open.
- You will find the key ⊞ Win in the lower left corner of the keyboard.
- 2 Right click on the disk with the Windows logo. The logo looks like four blue squares. A menu will open.
- In most cases, this drive will appear in the center of Explorer. If not, scroll down the left pane to find that drive.
- 3 Click on Properties. The properties of the selected drive will open.
- 4 Click on Disk cleanup.
- 5 Check the box next to the "Temporary files" option. You will find it at the bottom of the list of options.
- Do not confuse this option with the option "Temporary Internet files" - check the box next to "Temporary files".
- 6 Click on OK. You will find this button at the bottom of the screen. A confirmation message will open.
- 7 Click on Delete filesto confirm your actions. The system will delete its temporary files on the computer.
