In this article, we will show you how to delete your eBay account. This can only be done on a computer on the eBay website. To close an account, its balance must be zero and no pending transactions.

Steps

1. 1 Go to address https://www.ebay.com in your computer's web browser. If you are already logged into eBay, your home page will open.
   • If you are not already signed in to your account, click "Sign in" in the upper left corner, and then enter your email address and password.
2. 2 Click on your name. It's in the top left corner of the page. A menu will open.
3. 3 Click on Account settings. It's at the bottom of the menu. Your account settings page will open.
4. 4 Click on the tab Account. It's in the middle of a row of options under My eBay.
5. 5 Click on Close my account. It's on the right side of the My Account section.
   • You can also click on this option in the "Account Settings" section - in this case, you will be taken to a page with help information, where you will learn in detail how to close your account.
6. 6 Click on Close account (if you went to the page with reference information). Scroll down the page to find this option. On this page, you can learn about other ways to deactivate your account (instead of closing it), such as canceling your Sales Tools subscription and removing the automatic payment method.
7. 7 Click on Account closure request (if you are still on your account page). This link is located in the "Closing your eBay Account" section. A new tab will open.
8. 8 Select the reason why you want to close your account. Open the Select a Category menu, click on the reason category, and then click the appropriate reason in the drop-down list.
9. 9 Click on Proceed. This button will appear at the bottom of the page.
10. 10 Please confirm that you want to close your account. Open the "Choose an option" menu and click "No, close my account".
11. 11 Click on Proceed. This button is at the bottom of the page.
12. 12 Check the box next to "I have read and understood the information presented." This will confirm that you have read and agree to the terms of account closure.
13. 13 Click on Proceed. eBay will begin the process of closing your account. Remember that an account can be closed within seven days (but this is the maximum period).

Tips

• Reviews you leave to other users will remain on eBay after you close your account.
• If your account is blocked, it will not be possible to close it until you eliminate the reasons for the blocked account.

Warnings

• If you used your email address as your ID, please change it first and then close your account. Otherwise, all your reviews will remain linked to this email address.
• If you have unpaid fees or payments, you will not be able to close your account until you pay them.
