There are no easy ways to become a burlesque darling, but if you are going to become one, start here! The road to fame is very hazy and rocky, but whatever one may say, the curtain rises, panties fall, and the demand for burlesque shows has always been and will be in this world. It won't be easy, there are many paths leading to the glitz and glamor of burlesque. How to join the troupe? What is needed for this? Where to start?

Steps

1. 1 Appreciate art and expand your knowledge of it. You can't suddenly go on stage for no reason, undress and imagine yourself as a burlesque artist because you have a fan of feathers behind you. Performing in burlesque means using every little detail of your props and every part of your body to your advantage. Is Burlesque for you? What is this anyway? Where did it come from? If you've never heard of Lily St. Cyrus or Gypsy Rose Lee, then you don't know enough yet! The history of burlesque is as important as the technical side of it.
   • Gather more information on the story and find someone to inspire you.
   • Write down a list of what a burlesque artist should do and compare it to what you are confident you can achieve. Do you still think that you have all the necessary qualities and skills?

2. 2 Sign up for dance lessons if you need them. Learn to use the pole and the ballet barre, get yourself into a good shape, such as you will shine on stage. It doesn't matter if you are plump or thin as a stick. Earlier burlesque was mainly for lush beauties, nowadays it has become for everyone. Get dance, acting, performing, and choreography lessons if you can. Watch dance shows and movies to learn how to work your limbs.
   • If you do not have the opportunity to join a troupe or show, you can start your career in a regular strip club if you are accepted there. Remember that active viewers are not acceptable here.    • If there is no chance, then surely local clubs and bars need entertaining shows and performances to attract visitors at night. This is where the chic burlesque style is just right, especially if you know how to sing a little cabaret!
   • If you're having trouble finding a troupe, drop that. More on the troupes later. If you join a troupe, you probably won't need to read this guide any further! Listen to these cute beauties and ask yourself if you want this kind of life. If not, look for another troupe or perform solo.
3. 3 Create the look.
   • Every burlesque beauty's closet (in addition to her own props and costumes, of course!) Should have: a transparent negligee, a pair of slippers or high-heeled shoes, trimmed with feathers or down, satin stiletto heels, lacquered, or trimmed with rhinestones or sequins. black and flesh color, stocking belts in three basic colors (red, black and white) or better - a corset or a shaping corset with a belt for stockings with fasteners! You will also need, of course, the appropriate underwear, and above all the breast pads! Nipple pads and brushes are a must if you are going to take off a lot of your clothes! You also need to have a feather fan for variety. Other must-haves are bold lipstick, black liquid eyeliner, and lipstick-matching bright nail polish, of course!
   • For hairstyles and make-up: try to paint your lips with a ripe cherry lipstick and black cat arrows on your eyes. For inspiration, take a look at the vintage hairstyles from the 20s-30s-40s and 50s. Curls or curls on your hair can be easily done with nylon curlers! Heated rollers are also great, they can be wound and removed quickly before the very start of the show! Don't be stingy and buy lots and lots of hairspray. Choose bold hair shades. If wearing a blue corset, paint your nails with blue polish, your lips with blue lipstick, but outline the contour of your lips with black pencil and mix with lipstick to give them a twilight or midnight shade. If wearing lilac, paint lilac lipstick, eyes with purple smoke shadows and nails with a suitable polish. Oh, and don't forget, toenails need love too!
   • Clothes: Dress like a vintage bitch. Seductive bodycon dresses, cocktail dresses, and all other retro dressing styles are reminiscent of the glamorous era when women always wore stockings. There is nothing better than creating the illusion of this in the heads of ordinary men, huh? Small pill caps are ideal, or any veiled hat. Gorgeous accessories include a mini top hat, large hair flowers and feather veils.
4. 4 Practice and progress in the show. If you're not part of a troupe, it's important to practice the basics. Taking off the corset with one hand, dancing on tiptoe as if you are on high stiletto heels, gracefully stretching the legs and arms - not everyone succeeds in this naturally, and this should be learned.Depending on what movement you want to make, you need to learn how to do many different things, but, as a rule, you should be able to undress and do it beautifully! The idea is that while doing this, you shouldn't appear to be focused on undressing. When you dress or undress, try to always do it with one hand, and covering your private parts, as if you are being watched! Can you change your bra without removing your blouse?
   • There are tons of inspirational props around you waiting to be purchased or made!
   • Be an individual with character. You must be cocky and bright! Dream about everything! Keep your show on a budget, but often the economical versions look better because. they are well thought out! Flip through catalogs of fantastic costumes for ideas, wander around thrift stores, perhaps a piece of jewelry or a particular corset or skirt will inspire you. Don't be imitators, dear ones!    • Seduction Techniques: On Stage - Learn to hang from a pole and go down with V-shaped legs. Learn to take off your clothes (except for panties and stickers on your chest, of course!) While holding a fan in your hands as a cover and not exposing your panties and breasts! Learn to sit defiantly in a chair. Chairs are great, cheap props and everyone loves a chair room! Learn to hold the viewers' gaze. They will not understand what struck them. To tease the audience, while sitting in a chair, stretch your legs and touch them as if you were feeling tights with a seam in the back, stroking the stockings. You can also undress with your back to the audience. Especially when you take off your corset or bra ... they don't know there are nipple stickers!
5. 5 You can throw away all your gray and dull ones, or set aside for rainy days. You will be shocked to find that it is very difficult to walk in jeans and a T-shirt. Why? Because it's not glamorous. Did Audrey Hepburn gain popularity thanks to jeans? No! Did Merlin Monroe's sweatpants swell with air? These two beautiful women, famous for their style, chic and sex appeal, although they were not burlesque stars, are still considered icons. You work, study and live in fluffy wedges and chiffon robes, but burlesque is almost your whole life. If you wear a tapered bra on stage, wear it offstage, and if you wear matching corsets onstage, wear it offstage. This will most likely make you feel better about yourself. Be the glamorous girl every minute of every day if you want to be a true burlesque star. This is a way of life and it shouldn't cost you dear!
   • Learn to look modest, pout, straighten stockings when you know people are watching but pretend not to, be the epitome of glamor and chic. Put on lipstick in public while looking into a powder box, sway as you walk, wear high-heeled shoes, act like a 50s movie star and you will feel like it!
6. 6 Promote yourself. Everything is going smoothly, you are a glamorous kitty, okay, but you want to be a star, right? You want to shine, dream of real diamonds instead of glass, and be invited to all the parties of famous stars in the world. You perform successfully at the bar, but you do not make wads of money. Then, undoubtedly, you need to create a brand around you. You need to create demand and then fill it. Hand out personalized brochures and start taking orders for parties. It may sound dubious, but it is the art of being discreet and you probably already know this if you have gone so far ahead and not gone down the muddy path. People will invite you and then tell other people.Create a website with information about yourself and be available! Contact the agency if you think this will help. If you long for something, it will come. Organize your own show in a beautiful place or hall, with affordable ticket prices that only cover the costs - in the future you can raise the price when there is already demand. The new type of show will receive good support and can be advertised in the local newspaper, on the radio, in local news on television if possible. Booklets, posters, posters, anything that conveys a picture and presents people with a chic, artful and sexy performance. Above all, be original, be different from others, but don't be too weird or iconic so people won't be afraid to watch your show!
7. 7 Take it up a notch. You are invited, you are in demand, and the next moment you suddenly discover that you are a local celebrity. Now is the time to plan performances in other cities, isn't it? Take on this urgently. Create a troupe if you are not part of one. Maybe local dancers will want to try themselves, local strippers will want to step somewhere higher. Create an interesting company between yourself and your community, but never let some darling overshadow you, no, no, you have to remain the most extravagant of them all. Tips

• Half of your wardrobe should be underwear! You don't have to buy expensive, you can buy it cheaper and add personality with lace and ruffles bought in haberdashery. You can also hunt for discounts in online stores, thrift stores or second-hand stores for corsets, suspender belts and other beautiful vintage outfits! Panties are best closed and with ruffles. It's best to pull them back and demonstrate that there is a thong underneath! There are also such fabulous panties with a corset, it can be slowly unlaced and let the panties fall! It looks magical!
• Get ready for the hard work! There are no easy ways to go this way. The burlesque path can be fun and glamorous, but there is also a dark side, a hard one. Troupes often tour and do not see their family members, and their lives are stressful. Make sure you are willing to put up with it.

Warnings

• Viewers trying to actively participate in the show - no, no and no! The point is that we cannot deal with an audience that is captured by feelings. Burlesque is part of voyeurism. Stay out of reach and make sure your props and clothing are out of reach too! Having a great assistant for collecting things and props is a good idea so that nothing is stolen.
• Burlesque is still associated with the undressing misconception. Use a pseudonym, and always stick to it in all interviews, especially if you need an outside job to pay for vintage clothing.
• Besides, in this world, a woman always needs to be careful. If you undress, dance seductively, show underwear, beware of drunks, they cannot perceive it adequately (especially on the bar stage).
• Clothing incidents: Velcro = legend. Zippers are great, but sometimes they get stuck, so have a cute assistant on hand to help sexually in this case, or ask someone in the audience.
• The heels you purchase should be comfortable for walking and dancing. Shoe them if only they are part of the show!
• For the above reason, avoid drinking alcohol at work. It can also tarnish your name if you are caught drinking a beer an hour before the show and your reputation will suffer a lot (even if it has nothing to do with it).
• Becoming the Queen of Burlesque takes a long time to explore, shop, practice and travel. Make sure you don't compromise on personal time, time for your family, friends. Count every precious second.
• If clothes are lost by accident: this sometimes happens. Play it all as if it was meant to be! Together with the bra, the nipple lining can also come off if it has not been secured carefully. Leave it in place, cover with props or your hand while performing, or get them all lost together! Another good idea is to flip your breasts with the pads, then remove them and leave the bra on! Your dance will not be affected if you remove it at the end with your hand behind!

What do you need

• For the first time, you will need: props (whether it be a giant fan of ostrich feathers, or just a towel or a fully feathered bird of prey to attack!), Underwear consisting of a corset / belt for stockings, stockings, a bra, panties and nipple covers, and also some glamorous clothes to cover it all up !, a pair of nice high heels, and some music. A little imagination and practice will go a long way!
