1 Get a bandana or use an old one. It is possible that you have an old bandana; otherwise, you can purchase a bandana at your nearest supermarket or clothing store. Bandanas can be of any color as long as they are the same size.
  • 2 Fold the bandana into a square. Spread the bandana on a table or on the floor and fold it into a 56x56 centimeter square.
    • Most adult bandanas are initially square in shape with a side length of 60 or 70 centimeters. If your bandana is over 56 centimeters, simply wrap the edges so that the square has sides of that length.
    • If the bandana is too large, you can also hem the edges with a sewing machine or a needle and thread. This will secure the edges and make it easier to apply the blindfold. You can also glue the edges with regular glue or hot glue, or simply wrap them up each time they straighten.
  • 3 Fold the bandana in half with a triangle. After you make a square of the desired size out of the bandana, fold it diagonally so that the two opposite corners meet. As a result, you will get a triangle.
    • If you have folded the bandana and you have a rectangle, unfold it and try to fold it again in a triangle. It is necessary to fold the bandana diagonally and align one of the right angles of the square with the opposite corner.
  • 4 Fold the right corner of the triangle. Position the bandana so that the right angle is facing you, and bend it inward 5-8 centimeters towards the long side of the triangle.
  • 5 Continue to roll up the bandana. As in the previous step, fold the edge 5-8 centimeters inward again, towards the long side of the triangle. After that, you will have a shape in the form of an elongated narrow triangle. Continue wrapping the bandana in this way until you reach the top edge of the bandana. The result is a long and flat trapezoid with an upward-facing base.
  • 6 Tie a bandana over your head. After you roll up the bandana, take both ends of it, place it over your eyes, and tie it in a double knot at the back of your head. Then check to see if you can see anything through the bandana, as well as under and over it.
    • If you can see through the bandage, then you need a bandana made of darker or denser fabric.
    • If the bandana covers your eyes, but you can see the floor, then the bandage is too tight. In this case, unwind the bandana and fold it again, but this time fold it more (about 8 centimeters).
  • Method 2 of 3: Making a cloth headband

    1. 1 Collect everything you need. Visit your nearest clothing store and purchase a small piece of fabric, or use an old fabric. You will need a piece of 20x23 centimeters, or a larger one. In addition, you will need an elastic band that is long enough to wrap around your head with a little extra.
      • If you have smaller cuts of old fabric, these are fine! Just sew them together to get the rectangle you want. This way you can make a bandage from unnecessary scraps of fabric!
      • Choose the fabric depending on the purpose for which you need the bandage. Any fabric will work if you are going to use a headband for play, but a soft material such as felt or satin is best for sleeping.
      • You can use either a thick or a thin elastic band as long as it is tight enough. The elastic sewn into the headband should hold it securely on the head so that it does not fall off.
    2. 2 Fold the fabric in half. Grasp the sides of the 20cm fabric and fold it in half so that you have a 10x23cm rectangle.
    3. 3 Sew the elastic into the fabric. Fold back the edge of the fabric and place the elastic in the middle of the part that will be on the outside. Leave about 2 to 3 centimeters of elastic at each end. This way, when you fold the fabric back, a small piece of elastic should protrude from both sides.
      • To make sure the headband fits properly, hold it with the elastic facing outward and wrap it around your head while holding the edges of the elastic. If the elastic is too loose, shorten it slightly so that both sides of the fabric protrude 2-3 centimeters.
    4. 4 Sew the elastic to the middle of the bandage. To create a wavy fold on the bandage that will fit between the eyes and on the nose, cut two pieces of elastic, 2-3 centimeters long, and place them vertically in the middle of the bandage, and then gather the fabric under them into folds. Sew the elastic to the fabric.
      • This step is optional, although it will make the dressing more comfortable and graceful.
    5. 5 Sew the edges of the fabric. Sew stitches along the edges of the fabric by hand or with a sewing machine. In this case, you should leave a hole 2-5 centimeters wide at the bottom of the bandage so that you can then turn it out.
      • First sew the fold of the bandage along which you folded the fabric, and then the sides. After that, go to the bottom edge and stop 12-25 millimeters from the center of the bandage. Then continue to sew the bottom edge 12-25mm on the other side of the center of the bandage.
    6. 6 Turn the bandage inside out. After you have sewn the edges of the dressing and leave a hole at the bottom, you can turn the fabric right side out. Take the fabric and turn it inside out through the hole.
      • This may require some skill. Pass all the fabric through the hole you left and turn the dressing over to the correct side.
    7. 7 Sew up the hole. After you turn the bandage inside out, you can sew up the hole. Fold the tousled edge of the fabric inward so you cannot see it, and sew as close to the edge as possible.
    8. 8 Add matching jewelry to the headband. The resulting headband can be decorated with a bow or sparkles. Turn on your imagination!
      • If you want to make the blindfold more like a mask, use the same steps, but after folding the piece of fabric in half, cut the mask out of it. Then continue with the steps above: sew the edges of the mask, leaving a hole, sew an elastic to it, and so on.

Method 3 of 3: Making a paper bandage

    1. 1 Take a sheet of cardstock or other heavyweight paper and an elastic band. This bandage will look more like a mask, and it can be used for various games. However, one should not sleep in it!
      • Although plain paper will work, it is best to use heavier cardstock to prevent the bandage from wrinkling or tearing.
      • It is better to use dark colored paper. However, if you only have white paper, you can fold it in half and tape, glue, or staple the halves together.
    2. 2 Place the sheet on the table with the narrower edge facing you. Take a pencil and mark a distance of about 5-7 centimeters from the top edge of the paper. This is where you will attach an elastic band.
    3. 3 Attach a rubber band to the paper. Take an elastic band, make sure that it wraps around your head snugly enough (there should be about 2-3 centimeters left to tie on both sides) and attach it to the paper. It is best to use a stapler for this purpose. Attach the eraser where you marked with the pencil earlier.
      • While you can hold the stapler in any direction, it is best to keep the staples along the elastic. You can also pin them across the rubber band, but this will make it worse for holding it and it will more easily come off the paper.
    4. 4 Try on a bandage. When the headband is ready, put it on and see if it works for you. If the bandage does not fit well, peel the elastic off the paper and try stapling it in a different, more convenient location.
      • You can also decorate the bandage and make it more comfortable: glue a strip of soft cloth to the inside of it at eye level.
      • This dressing is very easy to make, but it may not be very comfortable - keep in mind that you will most likely see the floor in it.

    Tips

    • If you only have scraps of fabric on hand, you can simply cut a long enough strip out of them and tie it around your head.
    • Before purchasing or cutting the elastic, it is helpful to measure the circumference of the head so you know how long you will need it.
    • Although the bandage should fit snugly against your head, don't make it too tight or it will press on your eyes and head.

    What do you need

    • Cloth, paper or bandana
    • Scissors
    • Needle and thread or sewing machine
