If you're on a tight budget and can't afford expensive body creams and oils, you can still take care of yourself and take care of your skin. Ditch the high-priced, hyped-up foods and prepare a nourishing, fragrant body butter in your own kitchen. Homemade oil contains only natural ingredients without unnecessary chemicals and shock absorbers. Plus, it can be a great gift for friends or family.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Mango Body Oil

  1. 1 Collect ingredients. Mango Oil is a rich, thick natural substance that nourishes the skin and also has an amazing tropical scent. You can buy it from the natural products market or online. To make about 150 grams of cream you will need the following ingredients:
    • 56 grams of coconut oil
    • 56 grams of mango butter
    • 2 teaspoons of shea butter
    • 1 teaspoon wheatgrass oil
    • 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel
    • 10 drops of mango essential oil
  2. 2 Melt the ingredients together. Prepare a steamer, or make a semblance by filling a large pot with water a couple of centimeters and placing a smaller pot inside. Combine all ingredients except the essential oil in a small saucepan. Turn the stove on low and heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until all ingredients are completely dissolved. Continue heating the mixture for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oils are completely mixed and there are no lumps left.
    • Make sure the ingredients do not heat up too quickly, otherwise this can ruin the texture of various oils. Melt them together slowly, stirring frequently, to prevent the mixture from scorching and burning.
  3. 3 Remove from heat and cool at room temperature. Let the mixture cool slightly before adding the essential oil.
  4. 4 Add essential oil. Add 10 drops of mango essential oil. If you like a strong scent, add a couple more drops. If you are sensitive to odors, just 5 drops are enough.
  5. 5 Whisk the butter. To give the mixture a light, airy texture, beat the butter with a hand blender until thick and creamy.
  6. 6 Drain the oil into small jars. Sign them up. Store at room temperature and use within 6 months.

Method 2 of 3: Hemp and honey oil

  1. 1 Collect ingredients. Hemp oil has a very natural, earthy aroma. It is ideal for dry skin during the winter months. Hemp oil nourishes the skin, while honey is a natural moisturizer with antibacterial properties. Here's what you need:
    • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
    • 1 tablespoon beeswax
    • 1 tablespoon honey
    • 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
    • 1 tablespoon castor oil
    • 1 tablespoon of hemp oil
    • 10 drops of an essential oil of your choice
  2. 2 Melt the coconut oil and beeswax together. Prepare a steamer, or make a semblance by filling a large pot with water a couple of centimeters and placing a smaller pot inside. Heat the double boiler over medium temperature until the water starts to boil. Add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of beeswax to a small saucepan. Stir until mixture melts, continue heating for 15 minutes to avoid lumps. It is very important to melt the mixture slowly so that it does not burn.
  3. 3 Add honey and oils. Stir constantly while adding 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon sunflower oil, 1 tablespoon castor oil, and 1 tablespoon hemp oil. Continue stirring until the mixture is completely smooth.
  4. 4 Cool and add essential oils. Let the mixture cool for 10 minutes, then stir in 15-20 drops of an essential oil of your choice.
  5. 5 Transfer to small jars. Store in small sterile containers.

Method 3 of 3: Light Citrus Oil

  1. 1 Collect ingredients. This oil can be made in the microwave without fiddling with a double boiler. Collect the following ingredients:
    • 1/2 cup grape seed oil (or almond oil)
    • 2 tablespoons beeswax
    • 2 tablespoons distilled water
    • 10 drops of lemon, lime, or orange essential oil
  2. 2 Heat oil and beeswax. Pour 1/2 cup of grapeseed oil and 2 tablespoons of beeswax into an airtight container or heat-resistant measuring cup. Place the mixture in the microwave and heat for 10-15 seconds. Stir and repeat until the butter and wax melt.
    • Stir the mixture into the microwave for a short period of time to prevent the mixture from getting hot or scalding.
    • Do not try to prepare the mixture in a plastic container as it may melt.
  3. 3 Whisk the mixture with a blender. Add 2 tablespoons of filtered or distilled water and 10 drops of orange, lemon, or lime essential oil and continue whisking. The butter will become thick and white as you whisk. Continue until you achieve a creamy texture.
    • The process of diluting melted butter with water is called emulsification. This process is similar to making whipped cream or mayonnaise. It will take a while for the mixture to become smooth, so continue until you get the texture you want.
  4. 4 Transfer to small jars. An empty container of lip balm works well. Use on dry skin as needed.

Tips

  • If the oil is too thick, slightly reduce the amount of coconut oil or add a few drops of aloe vera gel.
  • Although mango or peach essential oil is offered, you can choose whichever one suits your taste. Rose, citrus or geranium are great choices.
