You have seen many of Candy's children passing by with their brightly colored bracelets. Perhaps you want those too.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Choosing a Material

  1. 1 Select beads. In principle, any beads can work, but plastic balls are usually used for candy. There are different types of plastic candy balls and each one gives a unique and interesting look.
    • The standard version is pony balls: large, with round edges. They are often used by children. They will give your bracelet a real candy look.
    • Perler beads are smaller than ponies but are also considered classic. They are used to create a durable, iridescent plastic figure. They have straight edges, which is good for creating cuff designs.
    • Peyote beads are similar to Perler, but they have rounded edges and are glassy. Use them as a wider and smaller version of the pony beads. They can be used to create more intricate patterns, but are more difficult to work with.
  2. 2 Select lines. Most types of line will work that are flexible enough to make a straight line.
    • Use elastic plastic line in combination with balls, however, it is not as comfortable as fabric line. Plastic lines begin to bite into the wrist over time, so many people do not give preference to them.
    • Fabric line is a good option if it's not too wide.
    • Make sure the line, no matter what you use, is thin enough to go through the hole in the beads twice.
  3. 3 Collect all other materials. This is a pair of scissors and a clasp if you want to use it to connect the ends of the bracelet.

Method 2 of 3: Making One Piece of Candy String

  1. 1 Measure your line. To do this, wrap it around your wrist and leave a couple of inches to tie the ends.
  2. 2 Select beads. You must decide on the color and pattern of the beads before you start stringing the beads. In any case, it is better to make a decision before assembling your candy.
  3. 3 Preparing the fishing line. If you are using a clip, then you need to attach one part of it to the end of the line: this will be where the balls end. If you are not using a clip, tie a regular knot at the end of the line, leaving a couple of inches so you can tie the bracelet tightly around your wrist.
  4. 4 We stretch the beads. There is no special stringing method for single strand candy. Everything depends on you! String as many beads as will fit on the line except for a couple of inches at the end.
  5. 5 Finishing the bracelet. Tie the ends of the bracelet into a knot. If you are using a clip, attach the second piece to the end of the bracelet. If not, tie the two ends in a knot around your wrist.
  6. 6 Now go show your skills!

Method 3 of 3: Making Candy Cuffs

  1. 1 Measure your line. As with the single strand candy, wrap the line around your wrist to gauge the length. Then untangle the line so that you have a significantly longer length, with about three feet (about 1 m) in reserve.
  2. 2 We begin to make a cuff out of beads. Choose the template you want: it can be a simple geometric pattern, or it can be a full-fledged drawing. Many sites have templates that you can draw from. String enough beads to completely encircle your wrist.
  3. 3 We make the second row of beads. To do this, continue from the last point of the first row in a circle one row higher. In the second row, the beads should go between the balls in the lower row. This means that the balls will be lined up alternately, not vertically.
  4. 4 Continue making new rows of beads. Do them as described in number 3, so that the balls are between the balls of the previous row. Do as many rows as you like or until the line runs out.
  5. 5 Finishing the cuff. Do this when you run out of line or cut it back. After tightening the last ball, tie the end of the line into a tight knot.
  6. 6 Show everyone your work! Now you can wear the cuff or give it to someone as a sign of friendship!

Tips

  • Star and heart shaped beads are very popular, but you can also try glowing beads for more fun.
  • The gift shops have a large selection of candy beads.
  • It will be much easier for you to work if you put the beads and fishing line out of the box.
