If you know how to build a good and safe dirt park, you can have a lot of fun riding even if your city doesn't have a skate park. On the dirt jumps, you can do a lot of tricks on both BMX and MTB!

Steps

  1. 1 Dump logs and stones in two heaps, and then sprinkle them with earth, the height of the heaps and the distance between them depend on your riding experience for beginners, jumps should be made 60-90 cm high, and for experts you can make jumps up to 2 meters high. The span between the springboard and the landing should be 60 to 150 cm for beginners and 2-4 m for experienced riders. The outreach should have a radius and end at 45 - 75 degrees relative to the horizon.
    • Remember that the ramps will need to be tamped down and it will get lower. In order not to constantly run after the wheelbarrow, you should expect that the ground will be tamped about 1.5 times, thus, for a springboard with a height of 1 m, you need to pour 1.5 meters of soil.
    • Make the drop off the springboard flat so you can fly as high as possible.
  2. 2 Tamp the soil with a shovel or with your feet. You can take a small hand roller, it will help you get the job done faster and the jumps will be smoother. If the shovel does not give the desired result, use a vibrating rammer.
  3. 3 Add a little water to the soil, it will be less dusty, tamp better and the bulette is more sticky.
  4. 4 Make a series of trampolines. Each next springboard can be made higher. Make a nice smooth track between the jumps so you don't lose speed.
  5. 5 Make a track that is fun to ride. In places where there is little space, make a landing, a place to slow down, a turn and only then the next flight.

Tips

  • After a few jumps, fresh jumps will need to be tweaked.
  • Try not to remove trees, they provide shade in summer and protect from the wind in winter. For a smoother landing, make it slightly higher than the departure.
  • Try to take the land away from the springboards, if water accumulates in the pits next to them, the springboards collapse in a few days.
  • Tamp the earth every time you pour it onto a future springboard. This will make the trampolines denser, which will significantly extend their life.
  • Use the rake to line up departures and landings, as well as the track between the jumps.
  • You can dig a hole between landing and departure to get more soil. You can also add some cement to the ground and flood it with water, this will greatly strengthen the springboard.
  • If you build a "table" use trees, it will strengthen this springboard.
  • Fill the canopy with water and do not ride it until it dries.
  • Build a distillation.
  • Do not fill the ramps so hard that they blur and lose their shape.
  • If there are a lot of skiers, it is a good idea to make a toilet.
  • Build a path next to the ramps, along which you can drive up.
  • First, build a couple of trampolines and then expand your park.
  • Always wear protection.

Warnings

  • Try to avoid passers-by. If someone spots your park, everyone who lives nearby will know about it. If someone doesn't like it, they can break him.
  • Invite other bikers to ride in your park and do not swear if they ride in it without you.
  • Don't dig holes between landing and next flight! If you fall, you will most likely end up in a hole. But even if you get hurt, don't stop.
  • Do not dig holes near the landing, as if you are blown away by a strong gust of wind, you can land directly in the hole.
  • Squat on the flight.
  • Land on the rear wheel first. If the front wheel flies too high at first, that's okay.
  • Don't be greedy!
  • Do not make very large jumps at once, it is better to start with small ones and increase them gradually. Or make a series with small jumps at the beginning and big ones at the end. Ride in defense.
  • You will greatly amuse your surroundings if you land in a pit of water and mud.
  • Don't get too harsh, you will fly vertically and you probably won't enjoy it, unless you are a crazy freestyler like Dave Mirra.
  • Do not pedal on the trampoline. Keep the pedals parallel to the ground.
