Google Docs Spreadsheet is a free and easy way to store data in tabular form. With a lot of information added, the process of quickly searching for keywords or topics becomes necessary.

Steps

  1. 1 Launch a Google Docs spreadsheet.
  2. 2 Open the tab with the necessary information for the search.
  3. 3 Open Find and Replace. There are two ways to do this:
    • Dropdown Menu: Click on the "Edit" tab in the dropdown menu. Scroll down to find Find and Replace.
    • Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard.
  4. 4 After that, the "Find and Replace" field will appear on the screen.
  5. 5 Enter your search term or word in the Search box. Do not write anything in the "Replace" field if, of course, you do not plan to replace anything.
  6. 6 Click Find. The search will begin in the document and if a term or word is found, you will see its first location (there will be a blue field around it).
    • You can keep scrolling down by clicking the Search button over and over. Thus, you will move to the next place where this word occurs. If nothing was found, you will see the phrase "No results found, repeat your search?"

Tips

  • You can use the replace function if you see a spelling error, misused term, etc.
