Is your computer not working as usual? Pop-ups appear even when you are not connected to the Internet? In this case, your computer may be infected with a Trojan horse (Trojan horse).

Steps

1. 1 Open Programs and Features and Task Manager; find any programs / processes that you didn't install / run.
   • You can open Programs and Features by clicking Start - Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features.
   • Task Manager can be opened by right-clicking on the taskbar (at the bottom of the screen) and choosing Start Task Manager.
2. 2 On the Internet, find descriptions of programs / processes that you did not install / run.
3. 3 Press Windows + R and in the window that opens, enter the regedit command. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run. This registry key contains entries for all programs that are automatically launched when the computer is turned on. In the right window, find entries for unfamiliar programs, and then find descriptions of these programs on the Internet. Remove entries for unnecessary or dangerous programs.
4. 4 Search the internet for websites that provide information on malware.
5. 5 Find information on the Internet about a specific Trojan horse and how to remove it.
6. 6 If you are unable to remove the Trojan, scan your computer with anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
7. 7 If you don't have antivirus and antispyware software, search the internet for them (for example, a free antivirus AVG).
8. 8 This way, you will be able to remove the Trojan from your computer.

Tips

• Some Trojans are automatically reinstalled after removal. Therefore, after removing the Trojan, check your computer again.
• If your antivirus did not detect the Trojan horse, replace it with another antivirus.

Warnings

• Don't download any anti-virus software you've learned about from pop-up ads; often these antiviruses contain malicious code.
