1 Take an iron and a brown paper bag.
  • 2 Place the item on the ironing board (if it is a carpet, do the process directly on it, and also read the Warnings below beforehand).
  • 3 Place one layer of a paper bag over the wax.
  • 4 Turn on the iron (medium-high setting) and iron the wax through the bag. Once the wax is heated, it will either stick to the bag or be absorbed into it.
  • 5 Lift the paper bag, place a clean piece of wax on top of the remaining wax, and repeat the process.
  • 6 Be diligent. Continue until the wax is completely clean. You may need more than one paper bag, depending on the size of the wax spot.
  • 7 For delicate fabrics, iron at a lower temperature.
  • Tips

    • If the carpet has a thick pile, clean the wax with a fine-toothed comb if possible.
    • You can also try using paper towels instead of paper bags.
    • If the wax is on your clothes, cover it with stain remover, then wash in hot water.

    Warnings

    • If you are cleaning carpet (or thin fabric), start with a low iron temperature. Increase the temperature if necessary. Carpets and other items can be made from fibers that can melt when exposed to high temperatures.
    • Do not turn on too high a temperature, as the paper bag may catch on fire.
    • Make sure the paper bag is at least twice the size of your iron to avoid damaging the fabric.
    • The wax can stick to damp cloth if you are not careful.
