It is handy to be able to draw trees when creating landscape or forest scenes. Here are some of the types of trees you can paint.
Steps
1 Start by drawing a simple tree. If you learn the basics of drawing a simple tree, you can learn more complex details.
2 Learn to draw leaves. Knowing how to draw individual leaves will prepare you to draw more complex trees.
3 Draw a detailed tree. If you want your tree to look more realistic, try adding more branches and shadows. You can also start making the outlines of the leaves.
4 Add details with shading. Once you have mastered the basics of drawing a detailed tree, you can make it harder for yourself by adding more shadow to the leaves and trunk.
Method 1 of 3: Fruit Trees
1 Draw a cherry tree. Drawing a cherry tree is similar to drawing a regular detailed tree except that the leaves are pink instead of green.
2 Draw an apple tree. If you add an apple tree to a rustic scene, it looks very beautiful.
3 Draw an olive tree. Thanks to its twisted trunk, the olive tree is the most difficult to draw.
Method 2 of 3: Holiday Trees
1 Create a holiday for yourself by drawing a Christmas tree! Painted Christmas trees are great festive decorations.
2 Celebrate Halloween by drawing a spooky tree. If you're really ambitious, try carving a pumpkin on it!
Method 3 of 3: Other types of trees
1 Draw a gum tree. It is also called eucalyptus. These trees are mainly found in Australia. You can add the koala to the branches if you like!
2 Draw a bonsai tree. The bonsai tree is a true miniature tree in a pot.
3 Draw a pine tree. Pine trees are much easier to paint than regular trees and look great in forest scenes or just on their own.
4 Draw the bamboo. Found in many Asian countries, bamboo is considered a symbol of longevity due to its long lifespan.
5 Draw a sycamore tree. American sycamore trees provide excellent shade on hot days.
