Reduce facial imperfections by applying a primer. The primer can be in the form of a gel or serum, transparent or with a slight shade. It minimizes the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles, evens out skin tone and can add color and brightness to it. Apply a primer before applying makeup or simply use it to make your skin look better.

Steps

1. 1 Cleanse skin thoroughly with a mild cleanser and then towel dry.
2. 2 Apply moisturizer and wait for your face to dry.
3. 3 Squeeze a bead of primer onto your fingertip.
   • Some manufacturers recommend using a specific amount of primer. Read the manufacturer's instructions before applying the primer.
4. 4 Use your finger to apply primer to your nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. Continue until you have applied all the primer.
   • Rinse off excess primer from your finger if you think there is enough on your face.
5. 5 Mix the primer evenly with your fingertips until the skin is smooth and dry to the touch.
   • You can also apply primer to your neck to make everything look even more even.
6. 6 Wait 1 minute before applying foundation. The primer must be completely dry before you apply makeup on it.

Tips

• Although a primer is usually used as a base coat before applying makeup, you can just apply it. The primer smoothes pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
• Try different primers before buying. They come in a variety of textures, and some may even be colored. Ask a cosmetic store for samples to determine which parameters are more attractive to your skin.
• Always use a primer before spraying airbrushed makeup to ensure an even application and an even look.

Warnings

• If the primer rolls on your face while you apply it, you have used too much and you need to remove some of it.
