Prayer is one of the 5 foundations of Islam, praying correctly is extremely important. They believe that communication with Allah will lead to a righteous life and give courage. If you are curious about how Muslims pray or want to learn for yourself, read on.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Preparing for Prayer

  1. 1 You need to pray cleanly. This includes a clean body, clothing, and the place of prayer itself.
    • Ablution is required. Before starting to pray, it is necessary to perform the rite of ablution. If after the last prayer you wrote, pooped, farted, you were bleeding, you were sleeping while lying down, leaning against something, you vomited or fainted, then go to the bathroom.
    • Be sure to cover the body properly. Nudity in men is considered to be nakedness of the body from the navel to the knees, in women - the whole body except for the face and palms.
    • If you are praying in the "mosque", which is preferable, enter quietly - other believers can pray and cannot be disturbed. Stand somewhere not at the entrance, not disturbing anyone.
      • If you are not sure if the area is clean, lay out a rug or garment. The prayer rug is very important in Islamic culture.
  2. 2 Turn towards Mecca. When praying, Muslims turn their faces to the holy city of Mecca, more precisely, to the Kaaba located in the city.
    • The sacred mosque of Mecca is the main shrine of Muslims around the world. In the center of the mosque is the Kaaba. All Muslims must turn to the Kaaba and offer prayer five times a day.
  3. 3 Pray at the right time. Five daily prayers are offered at the right time. Each is given a certain short time for ascension, determined by the position of the sun. Each "namaz" from start to finish takes 5-10 minutes
    • The five prayers are called Fadj, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha. They ascend at sunrise, just after noon, before evening, at sunset and at night. Prayers are offered not every day at the same time, but depending on the position of the sun, which changes depending on the season.
    • Raakat (number of repetitions) of each of the 5 prayers:
      • Fajr - 2
      • Zuhr - 4
      • Asr - 4
      • Maghreb - 3
      • Isha - 4

Method 2 of 2: Offering Muslim Prayer

  1. 1 The intention to pray must come from the heart. Before starting namaz, you need to realize and understand this intention. It is not necessary to say something out loud, the intention must come from the heart.
    • You might think about how many rak'ahs you are going to offer and for what purpose. Whatever it is, prayer must be sincere.
  2. 2 Raise your hands to ear level and say in a calm tone "Allah is Akbar" (الله أَكْبَر).“Women should raise their hands to shoulder level, palms up. This means“ Allah is great. ”This is done while standing.
  3. 3 Place your right hand on your belly button over your left (women should place their hands on their chest), eyes focused on where you are standing. Don't look around.
    • Read Istefta Dua:
      subhanakal lahumma
      vabihamdika vatabarakas-flour vataaaala
      zhudduka val ilakha gayruk.
      aaudu billaahi minash-shaitaanr rajim.
      bis-millahir rahmaanir rahim.
    • Next, read Surah Al-Fatiha (the first surah of the Quran), this surah is recited during each rak'ah:
Bismillahi-r-Rahmani-r-Rahim (In the Name of Allah, Merciful for everyone in this world and only for believers in the next world)
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alamin (Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds)
      Ar-Rahmani-r-Rahim (All-Merciful and Most Merciful)
Maliki yaumiddin (To the king on the day of judgment!)
Iyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in (We worship You and ask You to help!)
Ikhdina ssyratal mustak'yim (Lead us straight along the road)
Syratal lyazin an'amta 'alayhim, gairil magdubi alayhim wa aladolin. (on the way of those whom You have blessed, not those who are under wrath, and not lost).
  4. 4 Get on your knees. Standing up, say "Allah - Akbar". Bend over so your back and neck are straight parallel to the ground, looking at the ground. This position is called the "hand".
    • Bending down as it should, say "Subhanna -rabbeyal - azzem - val - Bi - haamdi" ("May Allah hear the one who praised him"), these words are pronounced three times or more, the number of repetitions should be odd.
  5. 5 Raise your hands. Rising, bring your hands to your ears and read "Samey - Allahu - leman - hameda." ("Allah will hear those who offer their prayers to Him.")
    • As you say these words, put your hands down.
  6. 6 Come down and bow to the ground (sujut), lowering, say "Allah - Akbar".
    • Once in position, say "Subhanna - Rabbeyal - Alla - val - bi - haamdee" three or more times, the number of repetitions should be even.
  7. 7 Rise out of the sujut and sit on your heels (jilsa). Place your hands on your knees. Say "Rabig - Figr - Ni, Vaar - haam - nee, Vaz - bur - nii, Vaar - faa - nii, Vaar zug - nii, Vakh - dee - nee, Vaa, aafee - nii, Vaa - fuu - annii". (Oh Allah, forgive me).
    • Return to the sujut position and say "subhanna - rabbeyal - Alla - val - Bi - haamdee" three times or more, the number of repetitions is even.
  8. 8 Climb out of the sujut. Stand up and say “Allah is Akbar.” You have done one rak'ah. Depending on the time of day, you need to complete up to three rak'ats.
    • In every second rakkat, after the second sujut, kneel down and read "Atta - hiyatul - Muba - rakatush - shola - vaa - tuth thaa - yi - batu - lillaah, Assa - laamu - alayka - ayyuhan - nabiyuu lizard - matullaahi - wabba - rakatukh , Assaa - laamu - alaina - wa alaa - ibaadil - laahishch - sho - le - khin.Asihadu - allaa - ilaaha - illallaah, Wa - asihadu - anna - Muhammadah rasuul - lullaah. Allah - humma - sholli - alaa - Muhammah - wa - ala - aali - Muhammad "(" Greetings to Allah, prayers and best words, peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the Mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and the pious servants of Allah. I testify that there is no deity but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger ").
      • This is called Tashshahud.
  9. 9 Conclude the prayers with al-salaam. After Tashshahud, pray to Allah and finish as follows:
    • Turn your head to the right and say the words "As Salam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu." On the right is an angel who keeps track of all good deeds.
    • Turn your head to the left and say "As Salam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu." On the left is an angel recording evil deeds. The prayers are over!
