Linoleum floors require a wider variety of cleaning methods than other types of floors. By following these steps, you should be able to achieve a shiny floor with minimal effort.

1. 1 If your floor requires a detergent, make sure that the detergent you use is specifically designed for linoleum; other detergents can corrode the top layer of linoleum.
2. 2 Vacuum or sweep the floor before wiping it with your hands. Any debris left on the floor will indicate poor cleaning.

Tips

• Consider using vinegar or ammonia to damp linoleum. Most manufacturers recommend this. If you use an unsuitable linoleum cleaner, you may void your linoleum warranty.
• The more dirt you clean up in the beginning, the more effective the rest of the work will be.
• Using vinegar or ammonia will be useful not only for linoleum, but will also help to slightly extend the life of the carpet, which is why in most cases, after cleaning the floors, use the remaining product to clean your carpet.
• To dry the moisture on the floor faster, turn on the fan. This will reduce the amount of time it takes to keep others from walking on the floor again.
