Deleting your Gmail account is a big deal because you will lose access to other Google services and products related to Gmail, such as Google Drive or Play Store. If you want to delete your account, you can do so on the Google account management page. Conversely, if you accidentally delete your account, you can recover it if you act promptly.

Note: You have 2 business days to restore your Gmail account. Otherwise you will lose your account permanently.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Delete Gmail account

1. 

   Sign in to your Gmail account. Visit the Gmail page and log into your account as usual. You need to access the network to delete your account, which is easier on the computer than on your phone.
   • Delete the account are not Free up future email addresses. You cannot reuse the site, for example ([email protected]).
   • This process will delete emails and contacts stored in it, but not delete Search History and Youtube information. Google accounts are still safe.

   Click your avatar, or the first letter of your name, in the upper right corner of the Gmail screen. From the inbox screen, click on the circle button in the top right corner. You should see a menu with a blue "My Account" button appear, with options "Add Account" and "Sign Out".

   Click on "My Account" and select "Account Preferences". This is the page that controls all Google accounts, not just Gmail. It allows you to delete your Gmail account but keep your Google account.
   • In addition, you can skip the previous steps and visit https://myaccount.google.com/preferences to go to your account preferences page.

   Find and select "Delete your account or services" in the left menu. When scrolling down under "My Account" there are a number of options as follows - Welcome, "Sign-in & security", "Personal info & privacy" (Personal info & privacy) privacy) and finally "Account preferences". You will see the line "Delete your account" here.

   Select "Delete Products" and sign in again to confirm your decision. After clicking on "Delete your account or services", you will see the option on the right side like this, just delete small product (like Gmail) or delete all accounts and data. Select Gmail, sign in to make sure you don't accidentally click delete.

   Consider downloading data before deleting. You can click "Download Data" to save contacts, chats and emails before deleting the service. You should download data to your computer unless you really want to wipe everything.
   • This will create an email archive on your Google Drive account. It may take a few minutes to a few hours, depending on network speed and inbox capacity.

   Click on "Gmail" and read the brief account deletion. Google will say a few things regarding this. Here are some points to note:
   • Removing an account may prevent you from recovering old passwords (passwords set up with Gmail accounts)
   • You can only restore your account within 2 days if you accidentally delete it.
   • You cannot register the same username as the deleted account.

   Confirm deletion of the account. When you select "Delete account and data", a warning dialog will appear, you will be asked to confirm you want to delete the account. Check each dialog box to confirm that you are aware that you will lose access to these services. At this step, you do not select the content to delete, simply identify the content will disappear. Enter the password at the bottom of the screen.

   Confirmed again. Check the "Yes, I want to delete my account" dialog box (Yes, I want to delete the account) and "Yes, I acknowledge that ..." (Yes, I know that ...), then select "Delete Google Account ". Gmail account will be scheduled for deletion. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Recover Gmail account

1. 

   Quick action - you only have 2 working days. Google accounts are only held for a short period of time after scheduled deletion. If you act quickly, you can restore your account, but you only have 2 days to do so.
   • These two days are not absolutely guaranteed. You have to do it as quickly as possible.

   Visit the Google Password Assistance page (Manage Google passwords). At the login page, select "I'm having other problems signing in '' (I'm having problems logging in). Enter the deleted email address, click "Continue".

   Enter your old password. You will be redirected to a page asking for recent passwords that you can remember. Enter your password, click "Continue".

   Click on "Submit a recovery request". When you enter your password, you will be redirected to the page indicating the account has been deleted. You will see a link to your account recovery request form. Click on it.
   • If you don't receive a link to your recovery request, your account has been permanently deleted. You can't do anything else.

   Complete the validation process. After clicking the recovery request form, you'll need to go through a series of confirmation steps. Enter an email address that you have access to, and answer questions about your password, last visit, and when to create your account. Google will use this information to verify you're the real owner or not.
   • If you do not know this information, you do not need to worry. Just submit your request and explain your situation and wait for a reply.

6. 

   Check email. Google will send an email to the address you provide. It may take a while to receive the email. Check your email and click on the link to create a new password for your account. You have successfully restored your deleted account.
   • Remember that deleting an account is deleting all data. Reloading data will take a long time.
   • Note, you may receive an email saying "account was deleted and is no longer recoverable" (Your account has been deleted and cannot be recovered). If you receive this message, your Gmail account will be permanently deleted.
   • If your account is deleted, you can create a new Google account, but you can't use the same name as your old account.

Warning

• It is not always possible to restore your Google account, and if possible, the time to save it is not much. It's best not to delete an account unless you're sure that's what you want.
