This wikiHow teaches you how to change your registered birth date on Xbox LIVE. We can only do this if an Xbox LIVE account is linked to a Microsoft account; If you subscribed to Xbox LIVE with a different account type, the age won't be changed. If your current account is under 18, you'll need to create a new Xbox LIVE account with a different date of birth if you want to play M-class games or rent certain movies / multimedia.

Steps

1. 

   Open the Microsof website. Visit https://www.microsoft.com to open the main Microsoft site. If you are already logged in, your name and profile picture (if applicable) will appear in the upper right corner of the page.
   • If you are not logged in, click Sign in (Login) in the upper right corner of the page, enter your email address, click next (Next), enter your password and click Sign in to continue.

   Click your account name in the upper-right side of the page. A drop-down menu will appear.

   Click View Microsoft account (See Microsoft account). This option is in the middle of the drop-down menu. When you click that, the Microsoft account page opens.

   Click Your info (Your information). This tab is to the left of the blue bar at the top of the page. The information page about the current account opens.

   Click on the link Edit date of birth (Edit date of birth). This link is to the right of the current birthday. The editing page will be forwarded.
   • You may be prompted to re-enter your password before proceeding.

   Edit your birthday. In the "Birthdate" section at the top of the page, change the date of birth to reflect the age that you want to show on Xbox LIVE. Click on the day, month or year that are displayed here and choose new info from the drop-down menu.

   Scroll down and click Save (Save). This green button is at the bottom of the page. So your age will change based on the new birth date. advertisement

Advice

• Xbox LIVE does not show the user age to other members.

Warning

• If you change the age from over 18 to under 18, your account won't be able to access certain games and privileges under Microsoft policy.
