This wiki page will show you how to quickly add friends on Snapchat using the Quick Add feature. Quick Add will display a list of people who are in your phone contacts or have shared Snapchat friends.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: Allows access to contacts on iPhone or iPad

1. 

   Open Settings on iPhone. This app has a gray gear icon, usually found on the home screen.

   Press Snapchat. This app is grouped together with the other apps, in the bottom half of the page.

3. 

   Slide the Contacts button to the on position. It will turn green. Now, Snapchat will have access to all the contacts on your phone. advertisement

Part 2 of 3: Allows access to contacts on Android

1. 

   
   
   Open the device's Settings. The app has a gear icon (⚙️) on the home screen.

2. 

   Scroll down and tap Apps (Application). This option is in the "Device" menu.

   Press Permissions (Authorization). This is the 3rd option in the menu.

   Slide the button next to "Contacts" to the on position. It will turn blue.

   Click the "Back" arrow. It's in the upper left corner. Snapchat can now access your device contacts. advertisement

Part 3 of 3: Using the Quick Add feature

1. 

   Open Snapchat. This is a yellow application with a ghost image inside. This will open the camera view.

2. 

   Swipe down to open the User screen.

3. 

   Press Add Friends (Add friends). This option is near the center of the screen and has a human-shaped icon with a plus sign.

4. 

   Press the button + Add (+ Add) next to the user Quick Add (Quick add).
   • You can also access Quick Add by going to the Chat screen. It will be blue text title on your friends list.
   • If a Quick Add username has been added from your phone book, under that name will display the text “In My Contacts”.

Advice

• If you don't allow access to your contacts, Quick Add will still suggest friends to share Snapchat with the user.
• If you add someone using the Quick Add feature, it will display “Added using Quick Add” in their friend request.

Warning

• Be sure to know the contact person well before adding them. You can have multiple contacts with the same name in your phone.
