Paper hearts or origami hearts are a cute way to decorate your personal corner or show your interest in a loved one. Origami hearts are easy to make, usually just a few folds. There are many ways to fold paper hearts, including a simple origami heart and a lucky heart.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Fold a simple origami heart

  1. Diagonally fold a square sheet of paper. It is easier to do when you rotate the paper like a diamond. Fold the top top down so it matches the bottom one. Fold it neatly and open the paper.
    • 15x15cm origami square paper is suitable for this arrangement. If not, you can cut the A4 paper into a square.

  2. Fold the square sheet diagonally in half for the opposite direction. Holding the paper in a diamond shape, fold the corners together. Fold neatly before opening it to normal square paper.
    • After you do this, your paper should have two folds at right angles to each other. A straight line from above and a line connecting the two sides. The two folds should intersect in the middle of the paper.

  3. Fold the top corner to the center. Again, keep the paper in diamond shape instead of square. Fold the top of the paper into the center, where the diagonal folds intersect. Press the edges of the paper.
  4. Fold the bottom corner to reach the top edge. Fold the bottom corner close to the edge of the folded paper above. Sugar just folded. The corner will be in the middle of the top edge.
    • Note that there will now be 6 sharp corners: 3 corners on the left and 3 corners on the right.

  5. Fold the left and right sections into the middle fold. Both folds start at the center of the lower edge, parallel to the edge at the bottom corner. Fold the lower right corner up close to the center of the top edge. Do the same fold for the lower left corner, close to the fold line just created on the right.
    • Press the edges of the paper on both sides
    • Below there will be a sharp angle created by two diagonal lines.
  6. Turn heart and fold sharp corners. Fold the top of the top two corners and fold the sides inward. You should now have the edges, not the corners, and you're done with the heart. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Make a lucky heart

  1. Use a small long piece of paper. Appropriate size of the piece of paper is 2.5 x 28cm.
    • The size of the piece of paper does not need to be measured exactly, but you should keep the same ratio between height and width for a beautiful finish.
  2. Fold the bottom corner onto the top edge. Make a 45 degree deep fold, bringing the left corner up to reach the top edge of the paper. Swipe the fold line.
  3. Do this 5 to 7 times more. Always fold the corner of the paper against the opposite edge. You will have to alternate urgently; the second fold will bring the top corner to the bottom edge, while the third fold will bring the bottom corner to the top edge.
    • The length of the paper will shorten as you fold.
  4. Cut off excess paper. Use scissors to cut off excess paper. Leave only a portion of the paper that is half the width of the folded triangle.
  5. Fold up the lower right corner. The right corner will be folded close to the right edge of the triangle. Fasten the road.
  6. Tuck the excess inside the triangle. Start by bringing down the top right corner, sliding inside one of the triangle's existing layers. As you push forward, all the excess will be stuffed inside, creating a triangle.
  7. Cut the top corner. Rotate the triangle so that the longest edge is up. Use scissors to cut the two corners, rotate the scissors to create rounded corners.
    • Note that the paper will be very thick and difficult to cut at this time.
    • The longest edge is not the part that has just been inserted into the triangle.
  8. Press down on the top edge. Squeeze your heart gently, place your index finger at one rounded corner, and place your thumb on the other. Use the tip of the thumb to make a dent in the middle of the upper edge. This will slightly curl the edges and you're done with your heart. advertisement
