In this article, we'll show you how to save a video sent in a conversation on Facebook Messenger to your phone's Photos app.
To step
Open the Messenger app. The app looks like a white lightning bolt on a blue background.
- If you are not signed in to Messenger, enter your phone number, tap "Continue" and enter your password.
Tap Start. That's the icon that looks like a house in the bottom left corner of the window.
- If Messenger automatically opens a conversation, you must first tap the back button in the top left corner of the window.
Tap a conversation. This should be the conversation with the video you want to save.
Tap and hold the video. If you hold your finger on the video for a moment you will see a list of options appear.
Tap on Save. Now the video will be saved in your phone's photos app.
- On Android, tap "Save video"
- If you're using an iPhone 5S or older, tap > next to "Delete" to see the "Save" option.
Tips
- The video should be saved directly to the "Camera Roll" section of your Photos app.
Warnings
- Videos that you save from Messenger usually have a lower quality than the original.
