Origami claws can complete a gruesome costume and impress your friends. If your Halloween costume requires claws, you can just make a claw for each finger. They are sharp and pointed so don't let too much go, they are for show!

Method 1 of 3: Make claws from plain paper

1. Place the paper on a flat surface. Position it horizontally. You can use any kind of paper you have available. If you want firmer claws, use thicker paper.
2. Buy or make origami paper. To make origami paper, place a standard A4 sheet lengthwise and fold one corner to the opposite edge. Then cut away the remaining piece of paper. You then have a square.
   • Firmer paper increases durability.
3. Place the paper on a flat surface. Lay it horizontally. You can use any kind of paper you have available. If you want firmer claws, use thicker paper.
4. Open the smaller triangle in the center of the folds. Insert your finger to open it. This will be the knuckle of the claw.

Tips

• Fold as exactly as possible. Consider using a special paper folder or ruler. Sharp, precise folds are the key to success in virtually all origami projects.
• This is difficult. Your claws will get better the more you make of them.
• Young children may need help with this project.
• Practice with thin, inexpensive paper before using more expensive materials.
• Some people's fingers may be too big or too small. You can always use larger or smaller paper, just make sure the proportions are the same.
• Buy a set of black gloves from a thrift store or find old gloves around the house. Cut the fingertips off and put your claws on the gloves, this gives an even better result.
• You can change the color by using black paper or by dyeing the paper. Craft paper is heavier and more difficult to work with, but provides more durable claws and is available in a variety of colors.
• If you want the claws to match your costume, you can decorate them yourself.
